My Hero Academia recently ended with chapter 430, and there have been a lot of memes and jokes about the conclusion of the protagonist, Izuku "Deku" Midoriya. A lot of people have claimed that he is the most "clowned on" character of all time, although there have been several Attack on Titan and Dragon Ball fans, among many others, who have mentioned other valuable examples.

It makes sense when considering that the My Hero Academia manga has recently concluded, which means that there is a lot of focus on Deku's character and the ending of his journey. However, there are many examples in Attack on Titan, Dragon Ball, and many more anime where characters have become running jokes, such as Yamcha, Eren, and others.

My Hero Academia fans discuss with the fandoms of Attack on Titan, Dragon Ball, and more regarding Deku as the "most clowned on" character ever

The manga recently ended with chapter 430, concluding with Deku having lost his powers and working as a teacher at UA after an eight-year time skip. While he did get a special suit to go back to being a hero in the final pages of the manga, that didn't stop anime fans from making jokes and memes about how the protagonist became a "wage slave" and virtually ignored by the world.

The comments and memes have been nonstop, which is also coupled with the general dissatisfaction with the series's ending. Many people felt that Deku's arc was mishandled and his ending was mostly disappointing, with some commenting that the reaction that came afterward is an example of how he is the most "clowned on" anime character of all time.

However, fans of series such as Attack on Titan, Dragon Ball, and more mentioned that there are more prominent examples, such as Eren Yeager in the former and Yamcha in the latter. There were other fandoms, of course, but these two were the most vocal fans, with Eren getting a lot of stick for the ending of his own arc and Yamcha because of the infamous Saibaman battle.

Reactions online

It is also worth pointing out that it makes sense that Deku gets a lot of memes at the moment because the My Hero Academia manga has just ended. Therefore, it is logical that his character arc is getting a lot of focus, which is something that also happened to Eren when Attack on Titan ended, to the point that a lot of people feel that his arc ruined the series as a whole.

Deku has always been divisive to many fans, though, with some claiming that his development was lacking. Author Kohei Horikoshi made some writing decisions that were deemed controversial, such as giving him more Quirks. However, examples such as Yamcha in Dragon Ball and others prove that there are other characters who have been "clowned on" a lot more often.

"watch more anime. yamcha is an easy pick," someone said.
"Yamcha and Eren during chapter 139 right there," another person said.
"Did you see Eren post chapter 139?" someone else said.

Of course, there are multiple examples of other characters who have received a lot of jokes and memes throughout the years, but it's My Hero Academia and Deku's turn at the moment.
