Dragon Ball Daima has introduced several instances of new lore and made some changes to established elements of the franchise. One of the most notorious alterations is the new origin of Majin Buu, which is explained through Dr. Arinsu's plans to get the Dragon Balls and overthrow Gomah's regime in the Demon Realm.

In the original series, it was stated that Babidi's father, Bibidi, was the creator of Majin Buu, and author Akira Toriyama later mentioned that this creature had existed since the dawn of time. However, Dragon Ball Daima has now confirmed that Buu was actually created by a witch named Marba, and the series details the process involved in his creation.

It was originally believed, as mentioned earlier, that Babidi's father, Bibidi, was the creator of Majin Buu, although author Akira Toriyama later stated that Buu existed from time immemorial. However, in episode 8 of the new Daima anime, Dr. Arinsu reveals that a witch named Marba created the legendary creature and that Bibidi stole the credit.

Marba explains that Majin Buu was an experiment gone wrong, thus explaining the original form's erratic and chaotic behavior and destructive nature. Nevertheless, Arinsu and Marba come up with a process to create new Majins who can possess a similar degree of strength while being more docile, as Shin's sister wants to use them to conquer the Demon Realm.

As per the process shown in Daima, Marba uses portions of Majin Buu, a bit of Arinsu's saliva to keep her essence, and Saibaman seeds, which are confirmed to originate from the Demon Realm. The process involves variables such as the amount of Buu used and how deeply to bury the Saibaman seed, as evidenced by the two processes that the characters have done in the series thus far.

The end result

It is also worth noting that the formula used in the process affects both the personality and strength of the creation, as evidenced in Dragon Ball Daima. For instance, Majin Kuu is a lot smarter and more rational, while Majin Duu proves to be considerably stronger but doesn't have the former's intelligence. Nonetheless, both characters have proven to be loyal to Arinsu, perhaps as a result of having some of her essence.

This raises questions about which elements were used in the creation of Majin Buu and what issues contributed to his becoming such a formidable threat. Marba may have been less experienced, which is a valid explanation, however, it would be beneficial for Daima to explain this.

Final thoughts

Dragon Ball Daima has added a lot of new concepts and lore to the franchise, with Majin Buu's origin being perhaps one of the most notorious. Moreover, this raises questions about the materials used to create him, although fans have had the chance to see the process twice with Marba and Arinsu.
