Dragon Ball Daima episode 1 will air on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 11:40 pm JST. The legendary battle shonen franchise is returning with a running anime for the first time since Super ended in 2018, and there is also a special feeling here since this is the last project author Akira Toriyama worked on before passing away on March 1, 2024.

Moreover, it has been confirmed that the events of this story take place before Super and after the events of the Buu Saga in the original series, meaning that Dragon Ball Daima episode 1 will start in that context. This episode is also meant to explain how Goku and his friends turned into kids, as seen in the trailers and establish the new adventure the protagonist will go through.

Fans in Japan can watch Dragon Ball Daima episode 1 on Fuji TV.

Fans overseas will also have the chance to watch the English-subbed rendition of Dragon Ball Daima episode 1 on Crunchyroll and Netflix. Both streaming services require a subscription fee to access its content, and Crunchyroll will simulcast the series.

The premise of the series

As mentioned earlier, this series takes place after the events of the Buu Saga and before Super, which means that characters such as Beerus and Whis will not be a part of the plot. Moreover, it has been established that an event turned Goku and the rest of the cast into kids, which is the plot's main focus.

The series is also meant to present the Supreme Kai as a major player in the story once again, as he is seen aiding Goku in the trailers. It was also established that the protagonist will head into another world to fix this situation, kick-starting a new adventure where he has to make up for his small size with his old Nyoibo (Power Pole), a reference to the franchise's early days.

The trailers have also suggested that the Demon Clan, a running group of antagonists in the video games of the franchise, is finally going to become part of the canon. However, little information has been given regarding these characters and the role they are playing, but most people assume they are the ones who turned Goku and his friends into kids.

Dragon Ball Daima will probably establish the new status quo of the cast as they are turned into kids, explain how they end up in this state, and what Goku has to do to fix this situation. It is also likely that viewers will see some dynamic action sequences, a trademark of this Akira Toriyama series.
