Dragon Ball Daima episode 12 starts where the previous one left off as Vegeta fights Tamagami Number Two, and the former manages to escape from the Kraken that almost ate him alive. As the Tamagami and the Saiyan Prince battle it out, Neva decides to power up his creation, leading to him getting the upper hand over Vegeta.

Meanwhile, Majin Duu manages to use his bizarre fighting style to beat Tamagami Number One as Gomah and Degesu discover that Dr. Arinsu is trying to get the Dragon Balls. Eventually, the Tamagami then asks Duu to solve a math question to get the orb, with Majin Kuu helping out his brother in secret with the answer.

The last part of Dragon Ball Daima episode 12 has Vegeta using Super Saiyan 3 for the first time in the canon version of the franchise and easily defeating Tamagami Number Two. Afterward, the Saiyan Prince manages to solve the question that Tamagami poses to get the Dragon Ball, ending the episode on that note.

Narrative review of Dragon Ball Daima episode 12: A very dynamic episode with a lot of action

Dragon Ball Daima episode 12, as mentioned earlier, was the most action-packed and had some stellar moments, with Vegeta's Super Saiyan 3 being undoubtedly the most notorious. However, it also had some nice character moments where the honor of the Tamagamis is shown as well as the connection between Kuu and Duu, which is always great to see.

Moreover, it is quite clear that Toei Animation has delivered once again in the animation of the fighting sequences, with the movement being fluid and quite dynamic. The movements of Tamagami Number One when fighting Duu or Vegeta's final onslaught are great examples of what this studio can do when they have time to deliver a quality product.

There have been some divisive opinions regarding the adventurous nature of this series, but this episode definitely harkens back to the action-focused days of the Z anime. Moreover, these two battles are also very important to move the plot forward, which is always key when it comes to storytelling.

While there are no new voice actors this time around, the cast continues to be one of the most consistent elements of the series. The voice actors continue to deliver high-quality performances, which is something that is shown throughout the interactions.

The animation, as mentioned earlier, continues to be another strong point, especially when it comes to the fighting sequences of the series. This is especially notorious when Vegeta uses his final attacks to defeat Tamagami Number Two, which is always quite enjoyable to see.

Final thoughts

Dragon Ball Daima episode 12 is probably going to live on in the memory of a lot of fans since this is the first time in canon that Vegeta uses Super Saiyan 3. Moreover, it was an episode with a lot of action and great moments, which is something that adds to this memorable moment.
