Reviewing Dragon Ball Daima episode 6: Evaluating the latest episode of this legendary franchise
Dragon Ball Daima episode 6: A brief synopsis
In Dragon Ball Daima episode 6, Goku, Glorio, Panzy, and Shin crashed because their ship was carrying a lot of things. As Panzy is fixing the ship and Goku has stomach issues, the Military Police of King Gomah reach out to them since the protagonist is now a target within the entirety of the Third Demon Realm.
It was during this portion of the episode that Panzy began to ask Shin about his role as a Kaio and the Glind race, with the revelation that they hail from five specific trees. Moreover, it was during this conversation that Shin revealed that his siblings, Arinsu and Degesu, didn't leave the Demon Realm because they had their own personal ambitions.
The party decided to rest, and while they were sleeping, it was revealed that Glorio called Arinsu, showing that they are working together. They were also attacked by a monster called Minotaur, although the scene played out mostly as a comedy since Goku and Glorio chose to have a fight to prove who is the strongest, showing the latter's lightning-based magic and the former displaying his superiority by using the Super Saiyan form.
Narrative review of Dragon Ball Daima episode 6: A great compilation of the main elements of the franchise
Dragon Ball Daima episode 6 could be considered a celebration of Akira Toriyama's career as a writer since many of the elements presented here could be viewed as tributes to his projects. The humor, particularly the ones involving Goku going to the bathroom and the Minotaur, could be considered callbacks to this franchise's early days and Arale, with the design of the new creature clearly inspired by his work in Blue Dragon.
The vast majority of the fandom has praised the constant inclusion of lore and world-building, especially considering everything related to Kaioshin and his origin. There is also the major plot twist of Glorio's true intentions, working with Arinsu on the side, making the latter's lack of presence more compelling since she could be the one pulling the strings.
This episode also featured a very dynamic moment between Goku and Glorio, showing the competitive side of both characters. When it comes to the protagonist, a lot of people have felt that modern iterations of his character were too lighthearted, and here fans could see a more serious side that he was sorely lacking.
Dragon Ball Daima episode 6: Reviewing the production, animation, soundtracks, and voice acting
The voice cast continues to be quite good and solid, which is something that helps with the comedy scenes. A good example of that is the different interactions between Panzy and Goku, which is one of the most entertaining aspects of the most recent episodes.
In terms of the animation, every episode of the series has had moments of brilliance as far as this goes and the fight between Glorio and Goku was certainly that. The battle didn't have a lot of complex choreographies but definitely strong visuals, especially when it comes to Glorio's magic attacks and the protagonist's reaction to them and his Super Saiyan transformation.
Dragon Ball Daima episode 6 also has a very good soundtrack that might not be very prominent throughout the story but has key moments. A good example of that is the music as Glorio and Goku are fighting, which captures the classic feeling of the franchise.
Final thoughts
Dragon Ball Daima episode 6 could be considered a celebration of everything Akira Toriyama did in his career, with humor that could be a tribute to both Arale and the early days of this franchise as well as other projects such as Blue Dragon and Dragon Quest. Moreover, it reveals a major plot twist in Glorio's true intentions as he is working with Arinsu.
