Dragon Ball Daima episode 10 recently came out with more additions and changes within the franchise's lore, including the origin of the universe and how the Glind race became the Supreme Kaioshin across the multiverse. While this was a notorious revelation by Shin during the most recent episode, it has also divided a lot of people's opinions on the matter.
It was established that the ultimate authority in the universe is a being called Super Majin Rymus and is the one responsible for the creation of the universe, as per Dragon Ball Daima. This changes a lot of the established lore from Super and makes a considerable distinction when compared to what that series has been building for the last ten years, hence why the fandom is so divided regarding this alteration.

The changes regarding the universe's origin in Dragon Ball Daima divide the fandom
The Supreme Kaioshin of Universe 7, whose name has been revealed to be Nahare in Daima, revealed in the most recent episode of this series how the universes came to be. It turns out that the Supreme Demon King from ages ago wanted to expand his realm and asked Supreme Majin Rymus to create a new reality, with the Glind race taking the roles of Kaioshin across the multiverse.
This revelation changed the nature of the franchise since Super had stated that Zeno was the ultimate entity in the multiverse, and while there is a case he still might be, the inclusion of Rymus changes the status quo. It begs the question of why Rymus was never mentioned, why the Demon Realm didn't have a role to play in the universes' affairs, such as the Tournament of Power, and the realization that this universe stems from demons.
Naturally, the most obvious answer is that author Akira Toriyama and Toei Animation didn't think of these concepts when Super was airing, but that doesn't stop it from being very divisive. Some people in the fandom love this retcon while others think that it was unnecessary, making a somewhat hierarchical structure even more complex.

Dragon Ball Daima has already made several changes to the lore, such as the mechanics of Shenron's wishes, the Namekians being demons and not aliens, and other elements of this nature. While most of them were harmless and didn't affect the grand scheme of things, this retcon, including Rymus and the origins of the multiverse, does affect the franchise moving forward.
For all intents and purposes, Daima is canon to the events of Super, which makes the connection all the more difficult to make as this new story presents more and more elements in the lore. Just the fact that Goku and his friends went to the Demon Realm, made new bonds, and are never brought up again pushes the fandom's suspension of disbelief, with this new retcon making things even more difficult.
"I love them tying it more into DBS, but it even more opens up the plot hole of Gomah etc being so scared of Buu / the fighters of U7 As they SHOULD be aware of the other universes with WAY stronger fighters, so their focus on U7 makes zero sense But it could still be explained," someone said.
"I mean nothing about Daima rendered Super not canon to begin with (at least the manga version as Daima does contradict the anime version). The only thing that needs to be seen is how and why Shin and Kibito decide to fuse again lol," another person said.
"seeing super lore in this show is so cool, like even if daima is its own continuity they still have all the separate universes from super," someone else said.
The next episode of Dragon Ball Daima is very likely to focus on Vegeta fighting Tamagami Number Two but these new elements need to be addressed at some point in the series.
