One Piece chapter 1134 revealed many details about Elbaph while simultaneously introducing two mysterious figures who will serve as antagonists. While these figures are hypothesized to be God Knights, their actual appearances remain obscured, with only portions of their faces unveiled.

One of the God Knights resembles Shanks, while the other does not remind of any established character. The theory of Shanks having an "evil twin" has been a popular idea within the fandom for several years. Although this theory has mainly been associated with Shanks, the appearance of the God Knights might also hint at the possibility of Nami having a sister.

While this theory may seem far-fetched, it is still plausible as nothing about Nami's actual origins is known, except that she was found in the Oykot Kingdom by Marine operative Belle Mere.

Twins have been an integral part of mythos constructed within numerous anime, with many depicting them as two parts of one entity. Jujutsu Kaisen has explored this idea, where Maki and Mai were perceived as the same soul and thus regarded as two parts of a single existence.

Shanks is one character who has been heavily associated with his possible twin, who is hypothesized to be a God Knight currently operating on Elbaph. The story of One Piece has been inspired by numerous mythologies, including Norse mythology, with Shanks' connection to Tyr being one of the most obvious indicators.

Figarland Garling being hypothesized as Shanks' biological father adds to the Norse inspirations as well. Figarland Garling's lunar motif, his overwhelming presence, and his connection to Shanks and Shanks' twin strongly suggest that Garling might be inspired by Fenrir.

Fenrir is described as the son of Loki and a key figure leading Ragnarok, assisting in setting the world aflame. Fenrir also has two sons, namely Skoll and Hati, both of whom pursue different entities within the mythos.

Hati chases the sun, while Skoll pursues the moon. This might be the inspiration behind Shanks and Shanks' twin. The former is associated with Nika, the sun, and the latter became a God Knight while possibly pursuing Garling, the moon.

The second figure accompanying Shanks' twin might be Nami's twin, given that the twin motif is very prevalent in Elbaph. Luffy being the sun and Figarland Garling being the moon might be an obvious setup for their eventual clash, where most of the God Knights are revealed to be counterparts of the Straw Hat crew.

While Nami seems like the last candidate to have a twin, it is important to note that Nami was an original resident of the Oykot Kingdom and was found alongside Nojiko, both of whom became adoptive sisters later.

The actual identity of Shanks' twin has not been confirmed, and Shanks' twin might just be Shanks himself, fulfilling the theories about Shanks being an antagonist from the very beginning.

Final Thoughts

One Piece chapter 1135 will be released on January 3, 2025, and will be available for reading on Shueisha's MANGA Plus platform. The anime is currently on a long break and will return in April 2025.

While many fans were expecting One Piece's Elbaph arc to be centered around an internal power struggle, the involvement of the God Knights has made it clear that the story might revolve around the invasion of Elbaph.
