Even Given the Worthless "Appraiser" Class episode 1: Ein and his misfortunes are introduced

The 2025 winter anime then has the protagonist explain that the people in this reality are born with a specific job they have to fulfill, and his is that of an appraiser— which means he can see a creature's level of strength and pick up their valuable body parts. This is why this party of a mage and a knight picked him, so they don't have to get their hands dirty.
Even Given the Worthless "Appraiser" Class episode 1 then takes another turn by setting them up in the dungeon by an army of Hellhounds, with the two other characters betraying Ein and using him as bait so they can run away. This leads to the scene of the prologue where the protagonist jumps from a cliff, cursing his own fate.
