On November 3, 2024, Blue Lock season 2 released a teaser trailer for the U-20 arc, which would span out over the rest of the sequel series. After a disappointing run of the first part, the fandom was expecting the second part to be decent enough because they thought the below-average animation was just for the first part. Sadly, that might not be the case and the teaser trailer said it all.
The teaser trailer featured some players from the U-20 Japan team in all their glory, but this glory was supported through still panels instead of motion pictures, making the animation style look like a PowerPoint presentation, kind of similar to the first part's animation. As expected, the fandom took to the internet to express their disappointment.

Analysing Blue Lock season 2's U-20 arc teaser trailer
Blue Lock season 2 episode 5 ended with the selection of the first team of Blue Lock players who would go against Japan's U-20 football team. The teaser trailer for the U-20 arc was released after the episode aired, and it featured the key players from Japan's U-20 football team.
Some members of the U-20 team included Sendou Shuto, the center-forward attacker, Oliver Aiku, the center-back defender, Neru Teppeu, the right-back defender, Darai Miroku, the left-back defender, Nirou Kazuma, the center-back defender, and the Itoshi Sae, the newly appointed center-attacking midfielder.
As amazing as the preview for all these characters might be, they were displayed through a below-average animation style that looked like a sequence of still panels, hardly any different from the Final Selection arc of the sequel series. This was a hint that the production issues might continue until the end of the sequel series.
Reaction from the fandom
The fandom was not happy with the teaser trailer for one of the best arcs of Blue Lock. As expected, most of the fans branded the upcoming arc as a 'PowerPoint presentation,' quite like the first part of the sequel series. Moreover, another one speculated that if the animation of the second part was similar to the first five episodes, it might be over for the sports anime series as a whole.
Some fans who weren't following Blue Lock shared their thoughts too, and branded the trailer as "hilarious." Lastly, another one jokingly added that the show was being animated through Microsoft Paint, given its mediocre animation.
"Can't wait for the next powerpoint presentation" a fan said.
"If the animation is like the first 5 eps it’s over" another fan feared.
"I don't know anything about Blue lock but this is Hilarious and sad at the same time" a netizen said.
"This show was definitely animated with Microsoft paint" another one said.
Final thoughts
Blue Lock season 2's U-20 arc is set to start on November 9, 2024. With the teaser trailer of one of the fan-favorite arcs already setting the standard, there is little chance that the series would succeed like the decently animated prequel.
As explained by Martin Reyes, an animator associated with Blue Lock season 2, in a TikTok video, there is no telling who is to be blamed for the production issues for the sequel series. However, these issues might make it obvious to the fandom that anime is just a way for production studios to make money and not to satisfy the cravings of the fans.
