One Piece episode 1113 temporarily shifts the anime’s narrative, moving it from Egghead to Hachinosu, a New World island that has become the hideout of the Blackbeard Pirates. Titled Run, Koby! A Desperate Escape Strategy!, the episode focuses on the attempted rescue of Koby, who has been kidnapped by Marshall D. Teach and imprisoned on Hachinosu.
During the siege of Amazon Lily, the unexpected arrival of “Dark King” Silvers Rayleigh forced Teach to give up his previous intentions. Still, Teach captured Koby to use the latter as a bargaining chip in his future negotiations with the World Government. To rescue Koby, some of his colleagues in SWORD stormed Hachinosu, which was guarded by several members of the Blackbeard Pirates.
The ensuing confrontation displayed the peculiar Devil Fruit abilities of both the Blackbeard Pirates executives and the SWORD officers. Notably, Teach’s men are famous as “Ability Users Hunter” as they have been stealing other people’s Devil Fruit abilities. As such, One Piece episode 1113 allows fans to get a sense of all the Blackbeard Pirates’ new Devil Fruit powers.
One Piece episode 1113 reveals the Devil Fruit abilities of Avalo Pizarro, Prince Grus, and more
Avalo Pizarro’s Island-Island Fruit
A former prisoner of Impel Down’s Level 6, “Corrupt King” Avalo Pizarro is now a core member of the Blackbeard Pirates. During the two-year timeskip, Pizarro ate the Island-Island Fruit, which allows him to fuse with an island to freely manipulate it.
Owing to this Paramecia-type Devil Fruit, Pizarro can assimilate himself with the environment in order to see, feel, and hear anything that stands on the island’s surface. He can perform unreal actions, such as manipulating the landscape, including mountains and buildings.
In One Piece episode 1113, Pizarro possessed the gargantuan skull-shaped rock in the center of Hachinosu to communicate with the people on the island. Controlling an island as a manifestation of his body, Pizarro becomes a quite dangerous foe. He can also manipulate the environment to create huge limbs.
Due to the sheer size of an island, the scale and range of Pizarro’s attacks are significantly amped, and so is his ability to withstand damage. While Pica’s Stone-Stone Fruit enables the user to merge his body with all the stone around himself, Pizarro’s Island-Island Fruit allows him to do the same with an entire island.
This makes Pizarro’s Devil Fruit a more versatile version than Pica’s. On the other hand, any damage dealt to the island will be reflected on Pizarro’s true body, as the Island-Island Fruit causes any damage inflicted on the environment to be shared with the user’s real body— a weakness that Pica’s Stone-Stone Fruit doesn’t have.
Vasco Shot’s Glug-Glug Fruit
Lecherous and vicious, “Heavy Drinker” Vasco Shot is another of the Level 6 prisoners that joined Teach during the mass breakout from Impel Down. True to his nickname, Shot seems to spend most of his time drinking liquor, to the point where he has rarely been seen in a completely sober state.
With this in mind, no Devil Fruit ability could suit Vasco Shot better than the Glug-Glug Fruit, whose powers he obtained during the recent timeskip. The Glug-Glug Fruit’s powers are alcohol-based, meaning that he can use them to spit out liquor while igniting it to generate powerful streams of fire.
In One Piece episode 1113, Shot wanted to use this technique to set Hachinosu on fire, so that Koby and the others would have nowhere to run. However, Pizarro pointed out that such a thing would upset Blackbeard, as they have just finished repairing the damage caused by the Rocky Port Incident.
Sanjuan Wolf’s Huge-Huge Fruit
Like Pizarro and Vasco Shot, Sanjuan Wolf was imprisoned at Level 6 of Impel Down and joined the Blackbeard Pirates after Teach stormed the prison. Known as “Colossal Battleship” for his size, Sanjuan is a giant who ate the Huge-Huge Fruit, which enabled him to drastically enlarge his already massive body.
This item allowed Sanjuan to increase his size to about ten times that of an ordinary Elbaf giant, making him the largest individual in the One Piece world. He is so tall that he can still stand in the ocean, despite the typical weakness against water that all Devil Fruit users have. Essentially, the Huge-Huge Fruit grants the power of gigantification.
Prince Grus’ Clay-Clay Fruit
First introduced during the Oh My Family cover story, in which he easily defeated Fire Tank Pirates member Gotti, Prince Grus is a Marine officer of the SWORD unit. Despite his formal rank being that of Rear Admiral, Grus’ overall strength is probably higher than that of most Vice Admirals.
Prince Grus ate the Clay-Clay Fruit, which enables him to generate and control clay. Clay is a naturally occurring substance, but it’s unknown whether Grus can fully turn himself into clay or not. As such, so far, it remains unknown whether his Devil Fruit is a Logia or a Paramecia.
Regardless of what their nature is, the Clay-Clay Fruit’s powers appear to be extremely versatile. Grus can use them to freely alter the hardness and shape of clay, using it to summon large and soft masses of the same substance, as well as create small, hardened weapons.
Grus can also create clay golems that he can remote-control to fight on his behalf, much like Charlotte Cracker used to do with the biscuit soldiers generated by the Biscuit-Biscuit Fruit. The clay golems are capable of fighting and speaking on their own, and are invulnerable to most attacks. If damaged, they can reform from clay, akin to how Logia users typically do.
Kujaku’s Whip-Whip Fruit
Kujaku is a Marine Read Admiral and member of SWORD. The granddaughter of the legendary old Marine officer Tsuru, Kujaku ate the Whip-Whip Fruit, whose powers she gave a glimpse of in One Piece episode 1113. Using this Paramecia-type Devil Fruit, Kujaku can tame anything she hits with her whip, implanting obedience into it.
After Kujaku strikes her targets with the whip, they will be forced to move as she wishes, regardless of that being physically possible under normal circumstances. In fact, the Whip-Whip Fruit’s surreal powers work even on inanimate objects, such as buildings and structures. In One Piece episode 1113, Kujaku used her abilities to trap several henchmen of the Blackbeard Pirates, cornering them.
