Dragon Ball fans continue to be dissatisfied with the lack of marketing that Daima has received since the official announcement of the series last year and the release of the action figures of Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo have not calmed them down.
While the reaction of the fandom has been quite positive regarding said products, they are still not leaving Toei off the hook when it comes to the Daima treatment. For people unaware of the context, this reaction from Dragon Ball fans is justified when considering the Daima situation.
This project has received very little promotion, similar to the Super Hero film in 2022, despite being the final project author Akira Toriyama worked on before passing away on March 1, 2024, thus leaving a sour taste in people's mouths.

Dragon Ball fans don't leave Toei off the hook despite positive reactions to the Daima action figures
The new set of action figures of characters such as Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo in their Daima incarnations have been recently announced, which have had positive receptions in the fandom. However, it hasn't stopped said fans from continuing to voice their criticism toward Toei for their lack of promotion and marketing of the Daima project.
As mentioned earlier, this anime was author Akira Toriyama's final creative work before sadly passing away on March 1, so there is an emotional weight attached to this production. However, Toei has not supported the anime with a lot of visuals, trailers, or anything else that could build up hype, which has taken a toll on the general excitement for the project.
On the other hand, this isn't anything new since it also happened with the marketing of the 2022 film, Super Hero, thus increasing the frustration of the fandom even further. This franchise has enough strength and worldwide appeal as a brand to reach a lot of people, and it appears to be a disservice to its legacy in terms of promotion.
Reactions online
The general dissatisfaction within the Dragon Ball fandom given the context is understandable. This franchise is a legendary institution of the anime and manga industry, and continues to be culturally and commercially relevant after so many decades in the business. It would be logical for the likes of Toei to properly market this new production.
This is shown in the comments regarding this news on X, as some fans have pointed out that Tamashii Nations, the company in charge of making these toys, has had much stronger marketing for Daima than Toei. That is telling because these figures have had a positive reaction, which is something that Toei could have capitalized on with more promotion for the project.
"Tamashii Nations has better marketing than Toei," someone said.
"W !! NOW WE JUST NEED BETTER MARKETING FROM TOEI" another person said.
"Bro is doing the marketing for them," someone else said.
More key visuals and trailers could have potentially helped to dispel some of the criticisms that are already plaguing Dragon Ball Daima, such as being a "GT ripoff" because it features Goku and his friends turning into kids.
With the possibility of introducing and developing concepts such as the Demon Clan, there is a chance this could be an interesting project for the franchise.
"We got Daima figures before the anime," someone said.
"THEY REALLY GIVING US EVERYTHING BUT A TRAILER" another person said.
Regardless of a lack of marketing, the biggest concern should be the series' quality. Hopefully, Dragon Ball Daima will honor Akira Toriyama's life and legacy.
