Failure Frame synopsis

The Failure Frame television anime series serves as the adaptation of author Kaoru Shinozaki and illustrator KWKM’s original light novel series of the same name. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed both the light novel and its manga adaptation for release, officially describing their stories as follows:

“Touka Mimori and his classmates are abruptly catapulted into a fantasy world, summoned by the resident goddess to serve as heroes. The good news? Most of the students display amazing skills upon arrival! The bad? Mimori is the worst of the lot, bottoming out at a measly E-rank."

It continues:

"Incensed, the goddess tosses him into a dungeon to die–but it turns out that Mimori's skills aren't so much worthless as they are abnormal. Abnormally powerful, perhaps!”

What to expect from Failure Frame episode 1 (speculative)

As mentioned above, Failure Frame episode 1 is likely to fall into the same familiar introductory trappings as most other isekai in recent years, despite how original they are in other areas. As a result, fans can expect to meet the central cast, get introduced to the world they’re summoned into, and learn its basic rules by the pilot’s end.

The first episode should also make it clear what protagonist Touka Mimori’s power is by the end of its runtime considering how quickly the above synopsis gets to that point. Likewise, it also suggests that Failure Frame could be paced much faster than most other isekai in recent memory.
