Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest episode 1: The origin of Wizard Guilds
Many years ago, in the distant era of X633, a village lay in ruins, its buildings crumbled, and its people no more. Amidst the ruins stood an elderly man whose eyes had borne witness to unspeakable horrors. He was the lone survivor of a calamity that had swept through the once-thriving community, leaving nothing but devastation in its wake.
But in the face of such tragedy, a spark of determination ignited within him. Driven by an unwavering resolve to prevent others from suffering a similar fate, he took it upon himself to establish the first wizard guild in history.
Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest episode 1: New members and unexpected surprises
In the present day, Max introduces the Fairy Tail guild to three new members. However, Laxus's intimidating presence quickly scares away two of the recruits. The third recruit, a determined young woman named Touka, remains undeterred.
She reveals her admiration for Natsu, who once saved her from bandits, and expresses her desire to join Fairy Tail and be close to him. Despite her enthusiasm, Makarov informs her that Natsu and his team have embarked on a hundred-year quest, much to Touka's surprise.
Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest episode 1: Elefseria, the client of the Hundred Year Quest
On the continent of Guiltina, Team Natsu makes its way to the ancient wizard guild, Magia Dragon. As the team journeys through the land, they encounter a phenomenon resembling snow but composed of Ethernano, a magical substance. Lucy recalls that Gildarts, one of Fairy Tail's strongest members, had previously failed this quest, but Natsu remains optimistic, buoyed by the support of his friends.
Upon entering the seemingly deserted guild, the team is shocked to find a dragon perched above them. The dragon, introducing himself as Elefseria, the Law Dragon, greets them as the "99th heroes." Elefseria reveals that he is the client of the hundred-year quest.
Erza questions him about the absence of other guild members. Elefseria explains that the members of Magia Dragon have long since perished, and newer generations of wizards prefer more modern guilds.
Natsu and Wendy quickly recognize Elefseria as a human, which he confirms by transforming into an elderly wizard. He explains that he is a self-taught Dragon Slayer who, like Acnologia, turned into a dragon as he overused his powers. Elefseria emphasizes the dangers of the quest, but the team reassures him of their readiness to face the risks.
Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest episode 1: Gajeel finds Touka suspicious after the latter mentions Briar
Meanwhile, back at the Fairy Tail guild, an internal conflict arises. Touka confronts Juvia about her lack of faith in Gray's return, declaring her own love for Natsu. An argument ensues, with Juvia listing other female mages associated with Natsu, prompting Touka to do the same with Gray.
Gajeel, observing the confrontation, becomes suspicious of Touka, especially after Touka mentions Briar, a member of the dark guild Avatar.
Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest episode 1: The quest to seal the Five Dragon Gods
Elefseria requests that the Fairy Tail mages sign a consent form for the quest. Although Lucy is initially hesitant, she recalls Virgo's hint about possibly encountering Aquarius in Guiltina and signs the form, eager to learn more about the quest. Elefseria then reveals the daunting task ahead: they must seal away the Five Dragon Gods, whose powers rival Acnologia's.
As they journey through the Valeria region of southern Guiltina, the team encounters unusual creatures, reinforcing the peculiarity of the continent. Lucy remembers Elefseria's explanation of the Five Dragon Gods, who remained uninvolved in the Dragon King Festival but possessed immense magical power.
Elefseria, wary of their potential for destruction, had learned dragon slayer magic to seal them away but ultimately failed. Seeking aid from other mages, he issued the hundred-year quest.
Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest episode 1: Natsu and team reach Ermina while Gajeel begins his investigation on their new guildmate
Elefseria directs the team to the harbor of Ermina, once home to a religion dedicated to Mercphobia, the Water Dragon. As they search for lodging in the town, they are unaware of being watched by a mysterious man and woman, the latter referring to her companion as the Water God, Suijin.
In Magnolia, Gajeel shares his suspicions about Touka with Lily, Juvia, and Levy. The first episode of Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest ends after Gajeel proposes an investigation into Touka and decides to shadow her, a suggestion met with enthusiasm by Juvia but reluctance from Levy.
