Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 10 review was quite positive, and fans were happy with the action-focused episode. The animation was on par with the previous episodes, with no improvement in particular. However, the series continues to include gratuitous fan service, which almost always ruins the perception of the episode.

Despite this, the frequent fan service scenes paired with the runtime of the earlier installments have desensitized fans. Therefore, it didn’t impact the episode as much, but fans will embrace the studio should they decide to tone down the intensity of said fan service scenes.

Overall, the voice acting was spot-on as usual since the series features industry veterans. The sound design was decent, which means no technical aspects of the episode caused any issue with the overall viewing experience.

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 10 review: Heavy usage of parallel cutting

Parallel cutting is an editing technique used to show various events taking place at the same time. The technique was employed to showcase the numerous fights taking place at the same time. While it’s not uncommon to see this, it allowed the animation studio to show the status of various fights all at the same time. It was interesting to see fights that involved Natsu, Gajeel, Lucy, Lisanna, Mira, Elfman, Grey, and more.

These fight sequences weren’t particularly exciting, but the animation studio has shown us that they will continue to animate fight sequences in this style, and fans don’t particularly have high expectations either. In that regard, the animation studio did a decent job of keeping viewers engaged with the series.

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 10 review: Raising the stakes

Despite falling short in certain areas on numerous accounts, one thing the series has succeeded in doing is raising the stakes every episode. Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 10 was no different as the members of the Fairy Tail guild went from fighting against their own comrades to engaging in a battle with the Diabolos guild members. They were introduced quite early in the series, and their main goal is to consume the flesh of every dragon, thereby gaining magical powers in an attempt to become the strongest guild.

Their main task was to consume the flesh of Aldoron, the Wood Dragon God. He is so big that he quite literally has towns on his limbs. The stakes were raised since the Natsu and his comrades not only have to take on their brainwashed friends but also have to fight members of Diabolos while protecting the orbs that the White Mage wanted to destroy.

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 10 review: Introduction of new characters kept viewers hooked to the series

Another way that Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 10 kept things engaging was by introducing new characters. Diabolos is a powerful guild filled with Fifth Generation Dragon Slayers. In addition to the three members introduced earlier in the series, two more Dragon Slayers made their debut. Nebaru was a mage who was able to use web-like fluids that would harden and restrain his opponents. Wendy was forced to take him on in Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 10, and Nebaru was able to make quick work of Wendy, despite the latter being a Dragon Slayer.

Meanwhile, Natsu Dragneel was forced to take on Wraith. He has the powers of the Spirit Dragon, and not everyone can see him. Happy, who was present on the battlefield, was unable to see him. Natsu attempted to attack, which failed because Wraith didn’t have a physical body. Once again, Fairy Tail pitted the protagonist against someone who seems invincible. It will be interesting to see how this battle fairs.
