Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 13 review was positive overall. J.C. Staff has done a phenomenal job with the episode, and it could very well be the best episode that this series has put out so far. There were plenty of glaring issues that could be observed in the past episodes.

However, the animation studio seems to have paid heed to the fans and their qualms with the studio’s work, since some of those issues were fixed. The fight sequences were a lot more lively this time around, and the pacing was great.

Once again, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 13 ended on a massive cliffhanger, keeping the fanbase on the edge of their seats. It was entertaining to see Laxus show his true capabilities since he is one of the most beloved characters in the show. Overall, fans seem to be quite happy with how the episode turned out this time around.

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 13 review: J.C. Staff wows fans with a well-animated fight scene

The fight sequence involving Erza Scarlett and Laxus in Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 13 is one of the highlights of the episode. This sequence was far better compared to the fights shown in the previous episodes. When Diabolos joined the already-existing fight among the Fairy Tail guild members, things seemed a tad bit too haphazard because of the editing style.

Not enough attention was given to each fight, and fans couldn’t savor any of the battles since very little screen time was allotted to each duel. In this case, however, there was plenty of screen time given to one fight. Furthermore, the animation was far better since it included a variety of camera angles, which made the sequence dynamic. The particle effects enhanced the fight, and pitting two fan favorites against each other worked very well. The show also packaged action and emotional content extremely well, which could be seen during the conclusion of the fight.

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 13 review: Reduction in fan service added to the pleasant viewing experience

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 13 exceeded fans’ expectations in all departments. However, one of the main reasons for the improved viewing experience was the lack of gratuitous fan service moments. In previous episodes, the frequency of the fan service scenes was far too high, and it often took away from the seriousness of the situation. The guild is in danger, the White Mage wants to destroy all Dragon Gods, and the Diabolos are only making things even more difficult.

The main characters are in a very stressful situation, and fan service moments undermine the stakes and the situation that these characters are in. Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 13 didn’t get rid of it altogether, but very little screen time was allotted for this, making it an entertaining episode to watch.

So far, the anime series has done a great job of retaining the fanbase by introducing new concepts or revealing more about existing entities. In this case, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 13 revealed Touka’s true form. Touka, much like Happy, is an Exceed whose body has been taken over by the White Mage. This character is shrouded in mystery, and the show is revealing information in small increments, which is a good strategy to keep things fresh for the viewers.

Fans can expect the same with Aldoron, who is the Wood Dragon God. Diabolos must have other powerful mages as a part of their guild. They could rival the likes of Laxus and Natsu as the series progresses.

Stay tuned for more anime and manga news as 2024 progresses.
