The second episode of Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest anime, released worldwide on July 14, 2024, plunges Natsu and his friends into an underwater adventure filled with unexpected challenges and formidable opponents in Ermina, a port town in Guiltina. The team has reached the small town in search of the Water Dragon God, Mercphobia, who is to be sealed according to the quest given to them by Elefseria.

Mercphobia is one of the Five Dragon Gods that inhabit Guiltina. According to Elefseria, the Five Dragon Gods are said to be on par with Acnologia in terms of raw power. Episode 2 of the anime also introduces fans to a new guild, Diabolos. The members of this guild are said to have gained Dragon Slaying powers by devouring the dragons.

Team Natsu arrives at Hotel Journey in Ermina Town, where they meet the manager, Kashima, an anthropomorphic fish who can transform into a human. Before going on a date, Kashima instructs the group to drink the beverages in their rooms, warning that failure to do so will prevent their survival.

Gray wakes to find the hotel submerged in the ocean, but Kashima reassures them that the town sinks daily at high tide. The drink they consumed allows them to breathe underwater and enhances their swimming abilities. The team enjoys the underwater environment, with Erza competing against a shark named Sharkina.

Their fun is interrupted when Gray questions Kashima about Mercphobia, causing the fish to become aggressive and declare their loyalty to the Water Dragon. The group retreats to avoid confrontation as Mercphobia's followers pursue them.

Meanwhile, in Magnolia, Touka reveals her Water Magic abilities, much to Juvia's disgust. They investigate Touka and notice a striped tail under her dress, which disappears before they can confirm their suspicions. Lily sees this, but Levy remains skeptical.

In the Sabertooth guild, Sorano compliments Yukino as Jellal arrives and reveals he is searching for Touka, asking the guild members to alert him if they find her and to avoid contact with her.

Back in Ermina, Natsu and others hide in an alley, shocked by the fish's change in behavior. Lucy suggests a peaceful approach to dealing with the dragons, convincing the group to transform into fish using Gemini's power, with Wendy turning into a jellyfish due to Lucy's lack of magic power. They investigate, and Gray confronts Kashima, who reveals that the humans investigating Mercphobia will be sacrificed to the Water God.

Natsu, Lucy, and Happy find a woman with a mysterious guild mark chained in a cell. She warns them to stay back as the Water Dragon descends. Breaking free, she defeats the sea serpent with a Dragon Slayer technique but realizes it's not the true Water Dragon.

The woman introduces herself as Kiria, a Dragon Eater and member of Diabolos, a guild of fifth-generation Dragon Slayers who gained power by consuming dragons. She attacks Natsu, recognizing his Dragon Slayer scent. Unable to fight underwater, Lucy engages Kiria but is overpowered.

Gray arrives and incapacitates Kiria temporarily, with Kashima shocked at Gray's deception. Kiria reveals that the dragon she fought was a messenger, and the true Water Dragon might confront her for her actions. Erza, Wendy, and Carla join the battle, but Erza is intercepted by Madmole, Kiria's guildmate, who uses Armor Dragon Slayer Magic to defend against her attack.

Despite Madmole's request for Kiria to return to the guild, she refuses, awaiting Mercphobia. The Water Dragon descends, splitting the ocean and expressing annoyance at the disturbance, while Natsu notices the dragon's human appearance.
