Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 5 review is mediocre at best, and the animation studio once again has failed to capitalize on the elements that would have made the episode quite entertaining to watch. On paper, the episode had everything to make it an entertaining one, but the execution was poor, and the animation was lazy.

The conversations that took place between Natsu, Lucy, Wendy, Gray, and Erza made the episode watchable.

A series infamous for not having any stakes finally introduced a moral dilemma. Natsu is someone who has a strong sense of justice and doesn’t believe in killing people. He was quite saddened by the idea of having to kill Mercphobia, the Sea Dragon God. He did a lot of good for the people around him. However, not only does the mission require him and his company to do so, but it would also end his suffering owing to the White Mage’s interference.

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 5 suffered from bad animation, especially when Mercphobia was being controlled remotely by the White Mage. There was a short fight sequence featuring the main characters taking their best shot against the Dragon. However, the visual effects used in the anime were extremely subpar. The effects featured a glowing sphere that glowed in the distance. The visual effects of the individual attacks were not shown, which was sorely disappointing.

J.C. Staff has animated a few impressive sequences in anime titles like One Punch Man. However, the fight sequences lacked fluidity. Furthermore, it also lacked a sense of dynamism owing to the lack of creative camera angles. Fans’ faith in the series seems to be degrading at a rather steady rate.
