Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 7 review has been poor overall. The episode had a few positive elements which kept the fanbase entertained. However, there are a few things that both the manga and the anime adaptations included which were problematic.
Fan service is something that is frowned upon and this anime series is infamous for it. There are suggestive scenes in the anime when there is no need for the plot to progress. This episode, however, featured interactions that were not only explicit but also quite problematic.
This episode was slower than the previous one since it didn’t have as much action. However, the series also gave fans some insight into the remaining Dragon Gods that need to be slayed by the Fairy Tail guild members. Here’s a detailed review of Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 7.
Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 7 review: Natsu crosses the line once again with Lucy
There was an interaction involving Happy, Natsu Dragneel, and Lucy Heartfilia during the opening moments of the episode. Natsu had trouble remembering the events that transpired after he consumed Ignia’s flames. Towards the latter stages of the previous episode, Lucy hugged Natsu from behind him, in the hopes of stopping him from destroying and killing Mercphobia. Happy informed Natsu about what happened, setting up a wholesome interaction.
However, the source material and the anime adaptation did something quite distasteful in the name of humor. Lucy complained that she had received burn marks because of him. Natsu lifted her shirt and inspected the upper chest region to see if she had received any burn marks. Lucy screamed at Natsu for doing that and she stated that Wendy had healed her. The series doubled down on this uncomfortable interaction.
Natsu offered to pass water on Lucy’s burn marks to disinfect the wounds. While this happened, Natsu had pulled his pants down slightly. This entire sequence was quite uncomfortable and problematic. One might argue that the issue was with the source material, but J.C. Staff had the option to exclude this scene if they wanted to.
Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 7 review: Decent pacing and hilarious moments
The pacing of the episode was good since it was entertaining to watch despite the lack of high-octane action sequences. One of the reasons why fans enjoyed Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 7 is due to the revelation of other Dragon Gods. Ignia is the Fire Dragon God, and aside from him, three more Dragon Gods that need to be defeated - Selene the Moon Dragon God, Aldoron the Wood Dragon God, and Viernes the Metal Dragon God.
There were plenty of hilarious moments in Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 7. One of the funniest interactions was the one involving Erza Scarlett. She is one of the fiercest characters in the series and there are very few who are stupid enough to mess around with her. Natsu is one of them and he decided to prank her. He took a marker and drew a mustache and other funny elements on her face when she was asleep.
Unfortunately, Wendy and Lucy were dragged into this. He drew their face as well, and Erza chased him around with a massive mallet. The interaction involving Erza dragging her luggage around was funny as well. Wendy and Natsu get sick on trains and they erased the train lines on the map, forcing the entire crew to travel on foot for some distance. These were some of the only positive elements in Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest episode 7.
Stay tuned for more anime and manga news as 2024 progresses.
