Dragon Ball Daima is set to come out in the fall of this year but fans have felt frustrated by the lack of promotion and marketing this new project has had. Toei has been releasing promotional material recently but has only been a few new images of Kid Goku, which has resulted in the fandom making ironic statements that he is now "doing a different pose".

The source of the frustration with Dragon Ball Daima's marketing is that this is the first anime adaptation of the series in which author Akira Toriyama had a prominent input.

Considering that the legendary mangaka sadly passed away on March 1 of this year, a lot of fans were expecting a lot more marketing and promotion when considering this is Toriyama's last creative endeavor, adding to the ever-growing frustration with Toei at the moment.

Dragon Ball Daima marketing continues to be the ire of the franchise's fandom

While it has been stated that Dragon Ball Daima is due to come out in the fall of this year, no specific release date has been given, and this has been a major source of frustration for the fandom, only surpassed by the lack of marketing. Considering that is a Dragon Ball release, more information should have been given regarding the upcoming release, but that hasn't proven to be the case.

This has been highlighted on X where a fan said rather ironically that the new Kid Goku visual had him doing "a different pose"— a jab at Toei for the lack of promotional material. That has been coupled with the lack of information surrounding the plot of this new anime, with only vague mentions and hints of the Demon Clan.

This has been a running issue with this Toei Animation project for quite some time now since the marketing department has been perceived as lacking by the fans. It is also worth pointing out that this isn't recent since the Super Heroes film had a similar reaction from the fandom in terms of promotion back in 2022.

Adding insult to injury to a lot of fans, Dragon Ball Daima was also the first anime project in the franchise in which author Akira Toriyama had a significant amount of input. Therefore, a lot of people feel that the last project one of the greatest mangaka of all time was involved with deserves a lot more promotion but that hasn't proven to be the case.

Reactions online

While the premise of Dragon Ball Daima has already been divisive to a lot of people because of the plot point of the characters being turned into kids, the marketing has not helped either. There is a growing feeling in the fandom that Toei is not given its favorite franchise, one of the most popular and beloved all over the world, the treatment and marketing it deserves.

There is also the perception that other series are being prioritized by Toei, such as the example of One Piece. There appears to be no denying that Dragon Ball Daima could use a lot more promotion when considering the unique place it has within the franchise.

"now we just gotta wait another 10 months for a snippet of the second trailer!" someone said.
"I didn’t realize dragon ball is at a stone ocean level of no news," another person said.
"I love how we're this starved that we'll take a low res image of an iconic Kid Goku pose and still praise it. I love it," someone else said.

While Dragon Ball Daima is set to explore different elements of the series' lore, such as the Demon Clan, the overall feeling of the marketing has been disappointing to a lot of people, as mentioned earlier.

"dragonball fans living the stone ocean experience," someone said.
"Crumbs and tap water," another person said.

Dragon Ball Daima could be a massive hit for Toei and the franchise as a whole but it appears that the road to marketing the series has been underwhelming to a lot of people.
