One Piece chapter 1122 is set to be released on August 5, 2024, but the raw scans for the chapter have already been unveiled. Moreover, the chapter also confirmed the escape of the Straw Hat Pirates from Egghead Island, thus concluding one of the most impressive arcs and also indicating the start of the next arc which could be the final one, before they head towards the grand treasure.

Speaking of the grand treasure, there is still one component missing to complete the pathway toward One Piece, and that component is in the hands of the Man Marked by the Flames. The man has met the Five Elders and from the Jump Festa statement of the author hinting towards this man, it is evident that this man has already been introduced and the Straw Hat Pirates could be nearing him.

One Piece: Exploring the Identity of the Man Marked by the Flames

The Man Marked by the Flames is a mysterious persona who was mentioned by numerous pirates in the past. After winning against Kaido and planning on their next destinations, Captain Kid teased this name and said that this man has the last Poneglyph.

During a discussion between the Blackbeard Pirates, Shiryu gave a much more detailed description of this man as someone who could be a part of the World Government and travel in a black pirate ship. He also possesses the power to create whirlpools, probably due to a devil fruit.

In One Piece chapter 1121, Vegapunk's speech ended with a two-page panel that consisted of some big names as the scientist claimed that whoever finds the grand treasure would change the fate of the world. Other than the known characters in a two-page spread, there was one character who was present as a silhouette.

As Vegapunk's statement stated one of these could be the person who would find the One Piece, there are chances that this silhouette could be the Man Marked by the Flames. So, he could be a big part of the final saga of the series. But who is this person and was he introduced in the past?

During Jump Festa 2024, Eiichiro Oda stated something about a fight between two persons but didn't state their names. These two could be Shanks and his twin-brother who have been the talk of the town recently.

In episode 887, the Gorosei met Shanks but the speech used between them was a bit awkward, as if they respected the pirate. As the World Government is against pirates, it would make no sense for the people of the highest authority in the World Government to respect Shanks.

So, this person could be Shanks' twin as they have the same face and, unlike Shanks who spent his life as a pirate after the Roger Pirates found him inside a chest, his twin could be a high-ranking Celestial Dragon, just like their father, and most probably a God Knight too. The battle between them could be happening for a while and after its conclusion, Shanks' twin could face the Straw Hats.

So, Oda's statement during the Jump Festa 2024 where he mentioned both of them as persons, not by their names, was because they were twins, and as the name of Shanks' twin is yet to be revealed, the author didn't want to kill the hype by revealing his true name so early.
