Fujimoto may have repeated Makima's fate with Nayuta in Chainsaw Man, and Denji doesn't realize it

Chainsaw Man chapter 170 recently came out and shocked everyone, as it was shown that Nayuta was seemingly killed, although some fans have noticed that there is a chance that Makima's fate has been repeated where she was eaten by Denji at the end of the first part of the manga.

Considering that Nayuta is the new Control Devil, thus Makima's successor, there is a good chance that author Tatsuki Fujimoto could have set up the sushi bar scene so Denji was eating the former's body parts once again.

This recent Chainsaw Man chapter took the internet by storm, leading to what could be considered a decisive moment for the series. Now that Nayuta is dead, possibly mirroring Makima's fate, Denji doesn't have a real reason to help Barem or the people of Public Safety, which could lead to a significant moment for his character.

Chainsaw Man author Tatsuki Fujimoto perhaps repeated Makima's fate in chapter 170

Chapter 170 of the manga shows Denji talking with Barem at the sushi bar as the latter reveals his motivations to get the powers of the Chainsaw Devil. However, the plot twist in the story is that Nayuta's head was delivered on a plate, much to the shock of everyone, but now there is the theory that Denji was eating her parts, mirroring Makima's fate at the end of the first part.

It makes a lot of sense when considering that Nayuta is the new Control Devil, being born after Makima's death at the hands of Denji, which means that author Tatsuki Fujimoto could be playing with that ironic twist in this chapter. However, it is worth pointing out that this is fan speculation at the moment and Denji could be just eating regular sushi.

This situation does fit with the events that Denji needed to see happen for him to defeat Makima, so it makes sense that Barem and the people of Public Safety would be doing something along those lines. It removes a person who can be dangerous to them in Nayuta, and could be the catalyst for Denji to unleash his definitive Chainsaw Devil form, much like he did against Makima.

Most fans in the Chainsaw Man fandom believe that the events of chapter 170 should set up a massive moment for Denji to go insane and release his Chainsaw Devil form. However, there is also the chance that Fujimoto could offer another plot twist and have Denji struggling to reach that form.

That is something that was already shown when Barem burnt his pets and Denji's transformation was very underwhelming, instead of having the rage and aggression that defined his Devil powers in the first part. There is a chance that transformation could once again prove to be underwhelming and perhaps disappoint some fans, although that is only speculation at the moment.

Final thoughts

There is a good chance that Chainsaw Man author Tatsuki Fujimoto may had Denji eating Nayuta's body parts in the recent chapter 170. It does make a lot of sense and fits with Fujimoto's writing style, although is worth pointing out that the story has not confirmed that yet.
