The Egghead arc of One Piece is in its final chapters, and the fans want to know what opponents would the Straw Hat Pirates face before they reach the grand treasure located at the end of the Grand Line.
Some final opponents for the Straw Hat Pirates are not predictable, but there is one showdown in which the fandom is highly speculating: Roronoa Zoro vs. Dracule Mihawk. Since their first showdown during the Baratie arc, the Straw Hat Pirate is eager to get his revenge on the former warlord.
But before celebrating this showdown, we should see if a better opponent exists for Mihawk. Fujitora could be a better-suited opponent against Mihawk as they have conflicting ideologies and nature and, more importantly, they could share a deeper link between them.

One Piece: Speculating the potential battle between Fujitora and Mihawk
Dracule Mihawk is the strongest swordsman of the Grand Line in One Piece. He started his journey as a Marine Hunter, hunting the Marine officers because of his grudge against the organization. After some time, he joined hands with the World Government and became one of the warlords of the sea.
Unfortunately, the warlord system was soon abolished, after which Mihawk became one of the leaders of the criminal organization Cross Guild. But who was responsible for abolishing the warlord system that took away peace from this swordsman? That would be Admiral Fujitora.
Fujitora, also referred to as Isshou, was the admiral who replaced ex-Admiral Aoikiji after his fight with current Fleet Admiral Akainu in One Piece. He was selected through the World Marine Draft. Fujitora was the main reason behind the abolishment of the warlord system as he considered pirates not worthy enough to stay under the protection of the World Government.
So, why does the showdown between these two make more sense than between Mihawk and Zoro? The biggest reason behind this could be their conflicting ideologies in life. Ideologies have a hidden importance in the series from the very start.
Blackbeard and Luffy are destined to fight in the series because one wants to conquer the world to fulfill his dream (Luffy), and the other one wants to do the same but for materialistic purposes (Blackbeard).
Mihawk has no pity for humans, which is evident from his previous title as the Marine Hunter. On the other hand, Fujitora cares about human lives. In the past, Fujitora slashed his eyes after witnessing the cruelty against humanity.
So, this makes their showdown much more sensible. Moreover, Mihawk's past as a Marine Hunter could be the reason why Fujitora gave up his eyesight, as witnessing Marine officers getting massacred could have been a horrifying sight.
Lastly, the name of Fujitora's sword, the Supreme Grade Yakuza Kasen, ties it to the underground mafia of Japan, the Yakuza. As Cross Guild is also an underground organization, Fujitora could be destined to fight Mihawk in the final arc of the series, where their ideologies could collide.
But this doesn't take away the chances of Zoro clashing with a strong swordsman. As Mihawk is currently the strongest swordsman of the Grand Line, he would be replaced by anyone who defeats him.
