Tamsy and Rudo leave the infirmary soon after Amo falls asleep. Rudo delves into a thought and wonders whether the kidnapper only wanted to bring suffering to Amo.

Tamsy doesn't brush off the idea because he feels the girl has made many enemies. Yet, he feels Rudo shouldn't forget about his initial goal, which is finding the connection between the Sphere and the Ground. Just then, Enjin gestures to Rudo to come with him.

While conversing in gestures, Rudo tells Enjin that he's having difficulties lying to Tamsy and others. He wonders whether he should tell them about Kuro's letter. However, Enjin advises Rudo against it because the informant must have ears everywhere.

After descending a long staircase, Enjin takes Rudo to August, who is seen preparing a costume for the Doll's Festival. According to the chapter, the Doll Festival is one of the biggest festivals, where Givers with dolls or toys as vital instruments participate and dazzle the audiences.

Rudo recalls the mysterious letter's content, according to which, he has to find the White Crow at the South Ward's Doll Festival. As such, he requests August to let him in, which the Cleaner accepts. Since Rudo is participating in the festival, August plans to prepare a costume for him.

Enjin gestures to Rudo that it's perhaps for the best because if they go to the festival with their Cleaner's uniform, they may stand out. He further tells Rudo that he will meet the Twins from the South Branch, who can help them out. The chapter ends abruptly, with Enjin, Zanka, and Rudo observing a flailing arm in August's room.
