Jujutsu Kaisen volume 26 was released in Japan on April 4, 2024, and Gege Akutami's comments at the start of this volume indicated that Gojo's return could never be possible.
Gojo Satoru was the strongest sorcerer of the present time and was known for his Six Eyes and Limitless cursed technique. He challenged Sukuna to a 1-on-1 battle in their first encounter and claimed that no matter how many times they exchanged blows, he would always win.
Chapter 236 saw the sorcerer die at the hands of Ryomen Sukuna, but just like how he returned against Toji Fushigoro, the fandom was expecting his return. But Gege's recent comparison of Gojo Satoru to a flower made his return chances close to zero. Gege Akutami gave Gojo the image of the Sazanka flower, which pretended to be the Tsubaki flower.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Gege Akutami's comments make Gojo's return impossible in the future
Jujutsu Kaisen volume 26 will be the last volume to feature Gojo Satoru alive as it showcases the final phase of the battle of the strongest. Gege Akutami's comments at the start of this volume state:
"Originally, as I had planned, Gojo was supposed to be drawn with a camellia flower, but he lost.... That's why he's drawn with a flower that looks like a camellia, it's not a camellia, it's a different camellia."
Camellia is known for its cultural significance in Japan. Two kinds of Camellia are of significant importance: Tsubaki and Sazanka. What the author was supposed to compare Gojo Satoru to was the Tsubaki flower, which symbolizes perfection. This emerged from the thoughts of his return.
But the volume featured another camellia flower, the Sazanka flower, which looks similar to the Tsubaki flower but is not the same. This symbolism indicates the author's notion that Gojo's return could be impossible, as he was not a real camellia flower (Tsubaki).
Summary of Volume 26
After winning the battle of domain against Ryomen Sukuna, Gojo Satoru felt a hope of victory until the King of Curses summoned Mahoraga, who had already adapted to Infinite Void. The fight continued as Gojo now resorted to hitting Sukuna with his Limitless Techniques, Lapse Blue and Reversal Red.
The King of Curses countered Gojo's every move by summoning more shikigami from the Ten Shadow Technique. Sukuna added another heavyweight to his arsenal by combining some shikigami, summoning Agito.
Gojo Satoru, now running short of cursed techniques, started chanting for an ultimate move, the same move with which he started the fight, Hollow Purple. Sukuna couldn't notice what Gojo was doing until his chanting was complete, and he fired his technique at Ryomen Sukuna.
Sukuna was gravely injured after receiving such a big blow, but at the same time, he used Cleave to bypass Gojo's Hollow Purple, which hit Gojo. This sliced the strongest sorcerer's body completely in half, killing him and thus declaring Sukuna the winner. The last chapter of the volume saw Gojo reunite with his dead friends and Kashimo enter the battlefield.
