Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 263 was recently leaked along with the comments the author Gege Akutami makes in every publication. This one included updates regarding his health, as he said that chapter 263 took longer to come out because of his health issues. He also discussed everything he did while recovering, including "watching compilations of Messi's plays."

Lionel Messi is widely regarded as one of the greatest football players of all time, and it surprised a lot of people that the Jujutsu Kaisen mangaka was a fan. However, there was also a split in the fandom because some fans prefer Cristiano Ronaldo, another high-profile player regarded as Messi's biggest rival. This led to some very entertaining reactions online.

Author Gege Akutami used the recently leaked chapter 263 of his manga to point out he was recovering from his health issues, which was why the chapter took longer to release. In that statement that comes with the Weekly Shonen Jump issue, he also said that the only thing he did during the period was to watch Lionel Messi's compilation videos.

The Argentinian is one of the greatest footballers and athletes of all time, winning every single trophy available. Additionally, a lot of people consider him the finest to ever grace a football pitch. However, the fandom was split by this revelation, as some don't consider Messi to be the best player and like Cristiano Ronaldo instead.

Ronaldo has been regarded as Messi's biggest rival and equal, with fans making the comparison with Satoru Gojo and Ryomen Sukuna as the strongest in Akutami's series. While Messi's World Cup victory in 2022 might have placed him a bit higher in people's estimations, there is no denying that Ronaldo fans are never going to go down online without a good fight.

Akutami's revelation led to a significant split in the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom, although all of it was in the spirit of good fun. There are anime and manga fans who like football as well, so they managed to take this opportunity to brag about where their allegiances lie when it comes to the Ronaldo and Messi debate.

In many ways, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo changed the way football is seen and consumed. Their performances raised the standard to a whole new level that is hard for the new generations to keep up with. That is why a lot of fans have compared it to the Sukuna and Gojo situation.

"Gege knows who the goat of football is," someone said.

"If you really want Gojo back you're gonna need an autograph from Messi ASAP The clock is ticking so get to it chop chop," another person said.

"Geges favourites are always the second best , like Sukuna," someone else said.

Some people even brought up Yuki Tsukumo's use of Garuda as a football during her fight with Kenjaku in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga. They said that could be Akutami's way of displaying his love for the sport. While a bit far-fetched, it does serve as a nice reference to add to this statement.

"Gege has an interesting way how to spend his time when he is sick," someone said.

"That explains why Gege rigs everything for Sukuna xD" another person said.

As mentioned earlier, this is all in the spirit of good fun within the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom. Furthermore, he has hopefully recovered from his health issues and can work in the coming chapters of the manga without any problem.
