Boruto's design post-timeskip has been a major point of discussion among the fandom. While opinions are divided, with some praising the design and others dismissing it as a reuse of adult Sasuke's design, almost the entire fandom agrees that the new design is a significant improvement and suits the more serious tone of the series.
Recently, a cosplay presented during Jump Carnival 2024 has become the main topic of discussion in the fandom, specifically because it is one of the few rare cosplays of the series' protagonist seen since the release of the entire series.

Timeskip Boruto cosplay sends the fandom into a frenzy
The new design of Naruto's son was inspired by adult Sasuke's design, incorporating elements like the sword and overcoat while also adding personal touches to make it unique to him. Although the new design has been well-received by fans, it has only been depicted on manga covers and in manga panels.
Given that the manga releases a new chapter every month, the fandom has seen a lack of media and fan art depicting this new and improved timeskip design.
Recently, a cosplayer donned the costume of the new post-timeskip design for the protagonist, receiving widespread praise from the fandom. This cosplay event, which took place in 2024, has become a major topic of discussion within the fandom, as aforementioned.
Fans' reaction to the cosplay
A few fans mentioned that despite the series' low popularity, this cosplay managed to pull off the timeskip look impeccably, including the cape, which is an integral part of the new design.
One fan also mentioned that the series and its narrative, along with its influence, have only continued to improve since the timeskip, suggesting that the series will continue to get better.
"Since boruto got out this timeskip the motion it been gettin been insane," one fan mentioned.
"he ate that up," another fan said.
Other fans noted how the entire design of Naruto's successor is leagues above any design currently present in the new generation of shonen titles. Some fans also took the opportunity to mention how beneficial it is that more fans are celebrating this series, as this might help attract new fans.
"Damm, he looks drippy as hell, I’m telling you man Boruto’s fit in terms of new gen is unmatched," one fan wrote.
"I'm thankful that more people are reading and celebrating Boruto. I hope with more cosplay this may interest new readers read the manga," one fan said.
While a substantial part of the fandom praised the effort and outcome of the cosplayer in depicting Naruto's successor, many fans also mentioned the lack of enthusiasm from the crowd and how the overall popularity of the series is still on the lower end, given the weak reaction to the cosplay.
Chapter 13 of the Blue Vortex manga will be released on August 20, 2024, and will be available for reading on Shueisha's MANGAPlus platform.
