The Kagurabachi manga has been progressing at a steady rate, introducing new antagonists and supporting characters at regular intervals. While the fandom was hyped over the introduction of Mr. Samura, there is a new villain in town and this could be the beginning of a new and continued rivalry with Chihiro Rokuhira.

This new antagonist has caught the attention of the entire fanbase owing to his personality. The fight sequences have been rather short. However, his combat abilities seem promising and quite visually pleasing as well. Readers have reason to believe that Hiruhiko could become the Mahito (Jujutsu Kaisen antagonist) of this series.

Reasons why fans believe Hiruhiko could become the next Mahito in Kagurabachi

Hiruhiko was introduced when Chihiro was assigned to protect Yoji Uruha. He is one of the four swordsmen bound by a lifelong contract to the Enchanted Blades made by Chihiro’s father.

While Hiruhiko’s full powers remain unclear, he seems to favor long-range combat using paper cranes, as shown in his fight with Chihiro. He quickly defeated the security personnel guarding Uruha at the temple, who had previously overcome Hishaku sorcerers, highlighting his impressive abilities.

The biggest reason why fans believe that he could be the next Mahito is his twisted personality. His tendency to smile in terrible situations is reminiscent of the Jujutsu Kaisen character. Another reason why readers see a potential connection to Mahito is the development of a potential rivalry with Chihiro Rokuhira. Mojito was Yuji Itadori’s rival, and they fought on multiple occasions. Yuji absolutely detested him and everything that he stood for.

Much like Mahito, Hiruhiko has shown his manipulative tendencies by posing himself as someone who truly understands Chihiro. There were numerous attempts to break Chihiro mentally. Chihiro constantly pushed back and succeeded in not falling for the tricks that Hiruhiko employed in the recent chapters. The parallels drawn between Chihiro, Hiruhiko, Yuji, and Mahito are some of the reasons why the aforementioned character could potentially become the next Mahito in Kagurabachi.

In conclusion

Hiruhiko has, to some extent, mirrored certain tendencies displayed by Mahito. The need to manipulate their opponents, their devious demeanor, and their hunger for fights are quite similar. This is coupled with the fact that Chihiro and Hishaku’s repeated clash could result in the development of a longstanding rivalry.

With these points in mind, it is hard to ignore the resemblance between these characters, and therefore, Kagurabachi fans have drawn this particular conclusion. It will be interesting to see Hiruhiko engaged in repeated fights with the protagonist and witness their dynamics develop over the course of time.
