A Brief recap of Honey Lemon Soda episode 1
Honey Lemon Soda episode 1 started with Uka Ishimori entering her school, only to witness a confrontation between Kai Miura and a few delinquents. Although the delinquents initiated the confrontation by commenting on Kai's lemon-colored hair, Kai swiftly defused the situation by spraying them with a bottle of "Lemon Soda." Unfortunately, Ishimori's uniform was also ruined by the fountain of lemon soda. This prompted an interaction between Kai's group and her.
Ayumi, one of Kai's friends, tried apologizing and sorting out the situation, but Ishimori fled the scene, overwhelmed by the sudden events. Later, it is revealed that Ishimori had been a victim of bullying throughout her middle school years. She was now trying to overcome her inability to hold social interactions while simultaneously making friends.
The episode then cuts to Ishimori reaching the school earlier than its usual operating hours, only to run into Kai, who manages to spark a brief conversation with her.
Eventually, she manages to develop a friendship with Kai's group. However, she soon discovers that a few of her previous bullies also attended the same high school. After Kai's persuasion, Ishimori manages to stand up to those bullies while simultaneously making friends with Kai and his entire friend group.
Honey Lemon Soda episode 2: What to expect?
Honey Lemon Soda episode 2 will essentially depict Ishimori's new friendship's effects on her while simultaneously exploring the various facets of Kai's character. Although episode 1 solidified the friendship between Ishimori and Kai, the future episode will explore their collective dynamic against Ishimori's previous bullies. Episode 1 adapted chapter 1 of the manga. Fans wanting to progress with the story can start reading the manga from chapter 2.
