My Hero Academia is currently in its epilogue and author Kohei Horikoshi is tying up loose ends, so it makes a lot of sense that fans are wondering if the possible romance between Izuku "Deku" Midoriya and Ochaco Uraraka will be addressed.
While most fans would assume that it will be dealt with in the coming chapters, there is a good chance Horikoshi could leave this subplot open-ended when concluding the series.
This is bound to be a controversial and divisive opinion within the My Hero Academia fandom, which in a way, could be fitting since the possible romance between Deku and Uraraka has sparked a lot of different and strong opinions. However, considering that the epilogue has four or five chapters left, there is a chance that this plot point could be ignored until the manga's conclusion.

Why the romance between Deku and Uraraka could be left open-ended by Horikoshi in the My Hero Academia epilogue
Now that the series is currently in its epilogue arc and has been reported that it will last four or five more chapters, the romance between Deku and Uraraka could be sidelined and remain open-ended in the manga. While there is evidence that both characters have a romantic interest in one another and could be an easy route to take in the epilogue, Horikoshi might have bigger plot points to deal with.
The author has given villains such as Dabi, Overhaul, and Spinner (and their respective character arcs) a conclusion in the most recent chapters, so there is a chance of Himiko Toga, Stain, and Tomura Shigaraki getting a similar treatment when it comes to the antagonists.
There is also the cast of heroes, with the likes of Deku, Katsuki Bakugo, All Might, and a few more also likely to get their chapters. Additionally, there is the element of Horikoshi perhaps showing glimpses of their future.
Ochaco Uraraka is another strong candidate for a chapter focused on her, especially considering her connection to Toga and the fact she wanted to be a hero to provide for her family, which was a bit sidelined in the manga. Therefore, when considering how many plot points and characters Horikoshi has to deal with, it is likely that the romance between her and Deku might not be addressed.
The romance between Deku and Uraraka
The possible romance between Deku and Uraraka has been divisive in the My Hero Academia fandom because there are two notorious camps. Some feel that Deku and Uraraka work as a couple and have been very supportive of each other throughout the entire story while other fans think shipping has devalued Ochaco as a character and the series has not given them enough time to grow together.
It is worth pointing out that Uraraka's interest in Deku has been addressed in the series and there is a chance that Horikoshi might give her a moment to conclude that aspect of her character. However, as mentioned earlier, he has a lot of different plot points to deal with at the moment.
Final thoughts
As mentioned earlier, Horikoshi has been working to conclude most of the prominent storylines in My Hero Academia and the romance between Deku and Uraraka could be left open-ended. This might be the best way to go, thus giving both camps in the fandom a conclusion that could work.
