Jujutsu Kaisen has a lot of popular characters, but one who is bound to become a lot more beloved when he makes his anime debut in the third season is Kinji Hakari. A big reason for that is how powerful he is, and that is connected to the nature of his Cursed Technique and Domain Expansion, which are quite controversial in the fandom.

All in all, Hakari is one of the most powerful characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. The character is one of the best examples of how far author Gege Akutami can go in terms of creating abilities that are both original and somewhat convoluted. Kinji Hakari made somewhat of a late first appearance in the series during the events of the Culling Games arc. He was briefly mentioned by Satoru Gojo during the Junpei arc and is known to be a third-year student of the Tokyo division of Jujutsu High. He is popular for his extremely high potential and natural talent as a sorcerer.

However, Hakari has a lot of clashes with authority and the higher-ups of the Jujutsu world, so by the time he is introduced during the Culling Games arc, he has been suspended. He is running an underground fighting club involving sorcerers and makes money off this until Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Panda visit him to ask him for help since Satoru Gojo was sealed during the Shibuya Incident arc.

It is worth pointing out that Hakari's Cursed Technique is rather infamous in the fandom because it struck a lot of people as very complicated to understand. His technique is called Private Pure Love Train and is centered around pachinko, a Japanese gambling game, and a romance manga series that has the same name as his ability.

However, this ability is mainly applied during his Domain Expansion, Idle Death Gamble, which has the shape of a train and displays several slot machines. This Domain works as a gambling machine, and Hakari has to hit a "jackpot" by lining up three of the same number. It thus granted him unlimited cursed energy for a duration of four minutes and eleven seconds.

Hakari is very powerful because of the nature of his Cursed Technique and Domain Expansion, which make him a very varied and dangerous foe. The fact he can gain unlimited Cursed Technique by hitting a jackpot also allows him to have an automatic Reverse Cursed Technique. This helps him heal his wounds and basically makes him immortal for four minutes and eleven minutes.

That alone is enough to make him one of the most powerful characters in Jujutsu Kaisen when he is in that state. However, Satoru Gojo has also mentioned the "edge" in his Cursed Energy, thus giving his punches a rougher factor. It's that combination of raw power and the possibility of being almost immortal that makes him a very strong character, if he is lucky that day.
