In the Re:ZERO anime, Subaru Natsuki's Return by Death ability allows him to return to a particular point in time before his death. As fans may realize, the Return by Death ability has been modeled after the ability to die and return to a checkpoint in video games, which is extremely useful for gamers.

However, in Subaru's case, Return by Death is both a blessing and a curse.
