Gilgamesh is a strongly powerful Servant and, under any measure, the strongest of all in the Fate series. His powers and capabilities put him at another level than the rest of Heroic Spirits. First and foremost, Gilgamesh holds the title of King of Heroes and has the Gate of Babylon.

This huge arsenal consists of prototypes of other heroes' Noble Phantasms, which he can throw at full force as powerful projectiles. His rank is subdued because of his hatred for the gods, but his divine heritage contributes part of his spectacular abilities.

He has the top-level skills of Charisma, Golden Rule, and Independent Action which increases his capabilities as a whole and also makes him able to work on his own without a Master.

As for Noble Phantasms, the Sha Naqba Imuru allows Gilgamesh exceptional perception and insight and he can distinguish unknown truths and accurately assess the abilities of his opponents. His most powerful Noble Phantasm is Ea, capable of unleashing Enuma Elish-an attack on par or even surpassing Excalibur in a destructive capacity.

Gilgamesh's vulnerabilities in in Fate series

Gilgamesh's biggest weakness is his bursting pride and arrogance. Despite his immense power, he undervalues his opponents, not considering them seriously enough to fight hard against them if they come from the wrong side of the class network.

While Gilgamesh owns an unmatched collection of Noble Phantasms, he is not an expert practitioner of the more specific uses of each. This lack of special expertise with every weapon can be disadvantageous when some opponents have become masters over their exotic armaments.

Another weakness of Gilgamesh is his hesitation to use his full power, especially his most powerful Noble Phantasm, Ea, against people he deems beneath his social stature. He often becomes too bold and lets his enemies know everything or gives them a chance to counterattack.

Final thoughts

In the Fate series, Gilgamesh is surely one of the most powerful Servants, possessing abilities that set him apart from other Heroic Spirits. As the King of Heroes, his unmatched armory, the Gate of Babylon, gives him unlimited legendary weapons at his disposal. His skills, including Charisma and Independent Action, increase his battle power, making him powerful enough without a Master.

His Noble Phantasm, Ea, has the potential to surpass even Excalibur's might in terms of destructive power. However, his pride and inability to unleash his full strength often foil him.
