How Yuta survived after being defeated by Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen, explained

Following the fierce fight where Yuta Okkotsu was defeated by the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna, comes a critical twist with the former's survival due to his connection with Rika.

During the fight, Yuta used his Domain Expansion and authentic Mutual Love and even attempted to utilize Gojo Satoru's body as a last-play trick. However, Sukuna's counterattacks, including his powerful technique Hollow Wicker Basket, canceled out Yuta's efforts and led to his defeat.

In the aftermath, Yuta's survival was intricately tied to Rika's intervention. While Yuta was incapacitated and lost control over Gojo's body, Rika used her Reverse Cursed Technique to sustain Yuta's original body.

The latter acted like a lifeline, allowing Yuta's physical form to not collapse under the extent of the damage. When his copy technique burnt out, leaving him defenseless, it was Rika's continued support that helped him regain his original body.

Although there is no official mention of the Jujutsu Kaisen sequel, chapter 269 hints at the possible future storylines, including why the Gojo and Kamo families might face a downfall. With the death of Gojo and changing tension levels, such a conflict with the remaining clans provides enough content for a sequel.

Additionally, the massive and overwhelming world of Jujutsu Kaisen contains huge elements that are yet to be explored, hence giving the author ample space to delve back into the story in the future.

Final thoughts

Rika uses the Reverse Cursed Technique in order to save Yuta's original body during the battle, while he is switching over to Gojo's body. With this connection, Yuta obtained his original body back, even though he sustained severe injuries while being in Gojo's body.

Her unwavering support finally spelled out the survival of Yuta, showing the deep relationship between them, and depicting how much her powers were crucial in reviving him after the devastating fight against the King of Curses.
