Dragon Ball fans are no strangers to debating people online and recently got into an argument on X regarding how its fandom power scales its characters. The focus of the topic in question was that the fandom wasn't measuring said characters' powers in an accurate manner, oftentimes mentioning that they are galaxy-level, which is a term to describe someone in fiction who can destroy a planet.

Naturally, this was a failed attempt at baiting because Dragon Ball characters have been capable of destroying things such as planets since Master Roshi destroyed the moon with a Kamehameha in the earlier arcs. This serves as a very good example of how there are people who can start arguments online without having a clear idea of the series they are talking about and its feats.

Dragon Ball fans get into argument online over inventive, but obvious bait take

A person on X named @zeppeli4_5 mentioned that most Dragon Ball fans claim that their characters are galaxy-level, which means that they are capable of destroying planets, and they are delusional because of it. However, most people who have read or seen the series know that there are several individuals who have been capable of such a feat, with Master Roshi's destruction of the moon being the first example of that.

Moreover, there are a lot of fans who may remember Frieza's destruction of Planet Vegeta, which is a pivotal moment in the history of the series. When considering that he was capable of destroying the planet at his weakest state and without any significant effort, it goes without saying that most characters who have surpassed him can accomplish similar feats.

A good example of that is Goku's battle with Beerus when the former reached Super Saiyan God, with their clashes slowly affecting reality. This was further emphasized in Super when Gogeta fought Broly and they were cracking open other dimensions, which is something that goes to show the degree of power these characters have.

Reactions online

The person in question didn't stop there and continued to goad the fans of Akira Toriyama's legendary series, even going as far as making obvious statements that the story explained at some point. That is something that shows the nature of these arguments and the ramifications they can have, which goes to show that people sometimes argue without having the knowledge to back it up.

This is a situation that is nothing new for fans of the series since there have been multiple examples of the franchise being misinterpreted, which is something that has been reflected by the perception a lot of people have of characters such as Goku and his motivations to fight. Another prominent example is how Gohan is perceived and people's idea of what he should be as a fighter.

"I'm actually in love with this bait," someone said.
"Do we.. do we even need to tell him?" another person said.
"Nah this supposed to be you don't use your brain," someone else said.

If anything, this goes to show how the internet works these days and how people are willing to say anything to bait others.
