I Parry Everything episode 4, titled "I Parried a Goblin," was released on July 25, 2024, and focused on Noor and Lynne's first guild commission after Lynne became Noor's apprentice. While I Parry Everything episode 4 depicted Noor and Lynne facing off against another high-ranking monster, it still didn't push Noor to his limits.
The "Goblin Emperor" was mistaken by Noor for a simple goblin, which led to him being oblivious to his own strength. Episode 4 also sets up the fact that the anime is currently following a villain-of-the-week format and continues to test Noor's limits.

I Parry Everything episode 4 highlights
I Parry Everything episode 4 starts with Rein, Lynne's brother, pondering why the king would give such a precious treasure to a stranger. It is revealed that this treasure is the abnormal-looking black blade Noor received in episode 2.
Rein recounts how the king, along with six high-class adventurers, ventured into a labyrinth during his adventuring days and emerged with the Black Blade after years of exploration. The blade became a national treasure due to its durability, surpassing that of Mithril, Orichalcum, and even mana metal. This confuses Rein, making him wonder why the king handed over such a sword to Noor so easily.
Rein rationalizes that the king must have noticed an ominous presence in the kingdom and gambled on Noor, hoping he might help with the impending trouble. The episode cuts to Lynne and Noor spending time in the market before heading to the guild to receive commissions. Lynne had accepted Noor as her master, but Noor's objective was to show her he didn’t deserve such a title.
At the guild, much to Noor's surprise, the Guildmaster offers their party a goblin-hunting quest outside the city walls, due to Lynne's high rank. Noor, having the lowest rank, had only dreamed of receiving quests beyond manual labor and fetch quests. He swiftly accepts, despite having considered getting rid of Lynne moments before.
Noor and Lynne reach the forest and encounter a Goblin Emperor, the strongest version of a goblin, whom Noor mistakes for a normal goblin. They hold their own but realize they'll lose in a battle of attrition since Goblin Emperors are artificially created and have abnormal regeneration. Noor uses one of Lynne's stronger spells to launch himself toward the Goblin Emperor and knock out its core, a gemstone on its forehead.
They return to the guild, and the gemstone from the Goblin Emperor finds its way to Rein, who realizes this artificially manufactured monster was a ploy from neighboring kingdoms. Noor and Lynne claim the "regular goblin" was very strong. The Guildmaster, curious about this "normal goblin," inquires further, but Lynne insists it was just a "regular goblin" as Noor had claimed.
I Parry Everything episode 4 ends with Noor and Lynne facing another problem: they didn't bring proof of their hunt since they reduced the Goblin Emperor to ashes.
Final thoughts
I Parry Everything episode 5 will be released on August 1, 2024, and will be available for streaming on Muse Asia's YouTube channel and HIDIVE. While the anime has consistently gained a fan following due to its misunderstanding-centered comedy and rather simplistic story, many fans are still waiting for its breakthrough episode, especially since Studio OLM's previous anime, The Apothecary Diaries, set a high standard.
