Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 15 was released on October 21, 2024. While the chapter does see the Shinju become stronger with Shinki's Shinju and the alliance of Boruto and Kawaki, a small detail could have hinted at the protagonist's dark future. This concerns Boruto's karma and current condition with Momoshiki.

As explained by the protagonist in the chapter, Momoshiki might emerge as a permanent entity inside him the next time his karma is activated, leading to the destruction of everything around him. Coincidently, this would parallel Itadori Yuji's moment during the Shibuya arc when he absorbed all of Sukuna's fingers, awakening him and destroying everything, sending Itadori into depression.

Disclaimer: This article contains potential spoilers from the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga series and has the author's opinion.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 15 saw Boruto and Kawaki cross paths at the Hokage Rock. After Kawaki was humbled by Boruto's reply regarding convincing the Hidden Leaf officials, the protagonist told Kawaki the condition of his karma. According to the protagonist, the last time he activated his karma was two years ago when the Claw Grimes attacked him and Sasuke.

However, the protagonist's experience during this activation was nothing short of a nightmare because Momoshiki Otsutsuki instantly took over him, and the only feeling Boruto could feel was dying and coming to life again. Since then, the protagonist has avoided using his karma, indicating that Momoshiki would take over his consciousness for a long time if his karma is activated.

Boruto's current condition could be parallel to Itadori Yuji from Jujutsu Kaisen during the Shibuya arc. During this arc, after Itadori fainted in the battle with Choso, Jogo approached the protagonist to awaken Ryomen Sukuna. However, Mimiko and Nanako also had the same ambitions.

So, the girls fed Itadori one finger, followed by Jogo feeding the protagonist 10 fingers. After this, Ryomen Sukuna awakened for a long time, during which he wreaked havoc all across Shibuya. Not only did the Jujutsu Kaisen antagonist kill hundreds of citizens during his battle with Mahoraga, but his acts also sent the protagonist into a depression.

Similar to this, Boruto might also have to resort to his karma in the future because the Shinju is much stronger than the Hidden Leaf officials perceive. So, after activation of the karma, the Shibuya arc would be relived in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. With the protagonist's body, Momoshiki could kill Kawaki and Boruto's loved ones, sending him into depression, just like Itadori.

Final thoughts

As speculative as this theory might sound, it has a high chance of coming true, given the turn of events Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is going through. Moreover, this would also fit Momoshiki's character, who is fond of witnessing others suffer.

However, the only counter-argument in this case would be that Kashin Koji's Ten Directions could save the protagonist from such a dark future. However, as Kashin couldn't tell Boruto about his being captured by the Hidden Leaf Village, fans can expect anything to happen in the future.
