One Piece chapter 1122, released on August 5, 2024, was a lot to take in, considering how many things it unveiled in just a few panels. Among other things, the chapter featured the despair of some of the big names, the spotlight of which was Imu who was knocked to the ground after sensing JoyBoy's Conqueror's Haki.

Moreover, there was an interesting detail to the panel that featured Imu's despair as a mysterious person was showcased running towards the World Government leader, worried about Imu's well-being. This mysterious person was also present in the panel where Imu was introduced for the first time, hinting that this person could be more important, or of high ranking, than the Gorosei in the eyes of Imu.

After a brief discussion with Luffy about the ambitions of JoyBoy, One Piece chapter 1122 saw Emeth untie a knot, which released the Conqueror's Haki of JoyBoy. The first pirate of the Grand Line had given this power to the Iron Giant to protect others from potential danger. Before releasing the Haki, Emeth claimed he would never let Luffy die.

After he released the Haki, the masses present on Egghead Island were knocked out due to its impact. The Haki also canceled Saint Saturn's summoning spell and sent the summoned Gorosei back to Mariejois.

The Haki also traveled around the Grand Line and reached Mariejois, where Imu was knocked to the ground due to its impact. As Imu screamed from the impact of JoyBoy's Conqueror's Haki, a figure started approaching the Word Government leader.

The same figure was present during the first appearance of Imu in chapter 906. Considering how this figure is always present with Imu, it could be of a higher authority, even higher than the Five Elders. This figure could also have a strong will, as when Imu was knocked out due to a reminder from the past, the figure handled the impact of JoyBoy's Haki pretty well.

So, who could this figure be? A part of the fandom considers this figure related to the Amazon Lily. Imu stays inside a garden where butterflies are also present. In some scenes of Boa Hancock, the Pirate Empress, butterflies are also showcased flying around her. This mysterious figure could be a past Pirate Empress whom Imu has under their control.

Some speculative theories about this character say that it could be the biological mother of Nami because there is no information regarding her. Nami's talent for forging maps could come from her mother, just like Usopp's snipping comes from his father. Nami's mother's talent for forging maps could be one of the reasons why Imu is keeping her with them.

Final thoughts

The mysterious figure could also be just a servant of Imu who is assigned to care for the World Government leader's needs. Still, the fact that it was unfazed by the JoyBoy's Conqueror's Haki puts its power level on the question table. There are hardly any characters in the series who can handle the impact of Conqueror's Haki, so it would be hard to identify this mysterious character.
