Given that the series was on hiatus for almost an entire month owing to Gege Akutami's health issues, Jujutsu Kaisen fans were reasonably excited for the release of spoilers for chapter 263 of the manga.
The alleged Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 263 spoilers continued the enthralling fight between Ryomen Sukuna and Yuta Okkotsu in Satoru Gojo's body. While the showdown itself had fans at the edge of their seats, the true highlight of the chapter was when Toge Inumaki emerged to help Yuta in his battle against the King of Curses.
Although Jujutsu Kaisen fans were undoubtedly ecstatic after witnessing Inumaki make an appearance in the manga after a long time, they couldn't help but worry about the beloved character's fate, especially since Akutami has been eliminating fan-favorite characters in recent chapters.
Toge Inumaki makes his long-awaited comeback against Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 263
Given how infrequent Toge Inumaki's appearances in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga have been lately, fans started to wonder whether the mangaka, Gege Akutami, has actually forgotten about the character. In fact, Inumaki got almost completely sidelined following the Shibuya Incident arc, where he tragically lost his arm due to the effects of Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine.
What's more, Inumaki was sidelined in the ongoing battle against Sukuna as well, which led many to label him as 'useless' and hurl other such insults towards him. Fortunately for the Jujutsu Kaisen fans, their beloved character finally got his chance to shine in the latest chapter of the manga, where he showed up to help out Yuta Okkotsu in his fight against the King of Curses.
Towards the end of the chapter, Yuta was seen trying to complete Gojo's chants in order to create a Hollow Purple, which could likely spell the end for Sukuna. While the latter was trying his absolute best to prevent Yuta from using the technique, he was suddenly caught off-guard by Inumaki's voice that came out of a recorder, commanding him not to move.
As Sukuna remained frozen in one place, Yuta managed to complete the chants, creating a Hollow Purple ready to launch at any time. On the other hand, Inumaki was seen profusely coughing up blood after using his Cursed Technique against Sukuna. That said, it was unclear whether this happened when he recorded it or if it is happening now, after his Cursed Technique took effect.
Jujutsu Kaisen fans are both ecstatic and alarmed after Inumaki's return
While there's no doubt that the Jujutsu Kaisen fans were delighted to see Toge Inumaki participating in the ongoing battle against Sukuna, they couldn't help but feel skeptical about his return. This is due to the fact that Gege Akutami has been mercilessly killing off characters lately, as fans had to bid tearful goodbyes to several beloved characters in the past few chapters.
"INUMAKI FR STEPPED UP AGAINST SUKUNA", said one fan.
"INUMAKI THANK YOU FOR UR SERVICE", said another fan.
"Gege pulling Inumaki to join the rest of the Sukuna victims", another chimed in.
Fans aren't particularly hopeful that Inumaki will live on to see another day, especially due to his current condition. That said, his appearance in the latest chapter did revitalize some faith in his character among the fans, who started calling out those who had previously ridiculed him for his absence from the story.
"INUMAKI THEY CALLED YOU USELESS, THEY SAID YOU DON'T DO NOTHING EVER, THEY'VE BEEN MOCKING YOU FOR SO LONG. SHOW THEM WHO YOU ARE INUMAKI SHOW THEM", one fan cheered on.
"Inumaki please don’t die im begging….", one fan hoped.
