The Dandadan anime recently introduced a new Yokai in the latest episode, which has naturally led to the question "Is Acrobatic Silky Aira's mom?". This is because this creature referred to Aira Shiratori as her daughter during their encounter, so it makes sense that a lot of anime-only fans would have that doubt since this Science SARU production is yet to address this.
It turns out that, according to the manga, Acrobatic Silky was a human woman who lost her daughter and took her life in the process, with her connecting to Aira because the latter mistook her for her own mother when the former was already going through a deep depression. Now as a Yokai, she has lost her human memories and only holds to the vague feeling of familiarity that she has regarding Aira, as evidenced recently in the Dandadan anime.

Silky's backstory in Dandadan, explained
As mentioned earlier, Acrobatic Silky used to be a struggling human mother who was working two jobs to provide for her daughter. While they didn't have a lot of money, they loved each other quite dearly and this woman was teaching her young girl ballet, which is something she was very passionate about.
One of her jobs involved selling her body and getting involved with dangerous people. She even owed money to men for a dress for her daughter. As punishment, the men took her daughter away, and she was unable to catch up. Devastated, she took her life by jumping from a building while performing a ballet move, transforming into the Yokai, Acrobatic Silky.
During this time, she began losing her sanity and was mistaken by a young Aira Shiratori for her mother. This led her Yokai form to believe Aira was her daughter, as shown in the current Science SARU adaptation.
Aira's backstory, explained
A major reason why a lot of people currently watching the Dandadan anime ask "Is Acrobatic Silky Aira's mom?" is because newcomers haven't seen her backstory yet. And there is also a reason why Aira Shiratori reached out to the Acrobatic Silky when she was a child since she was also dealing with her own loss at the time.
Aira had lost her mother at some moment during her childhood and mistook the Acrobatic Silky Yokai with her, leading to the former not realizing that she had former a connection with the latter, thus explaining why she is followed by this creature. However, when she faced the Yokai with Momo Ayase and Okarun during the story, it was this connection with her that ultimately saved her.
She understood what Acrobatic Silky went through in life, and, without realizing it, had inherited her powers. This would represent the beginning of Aira's character development in the series, going from an egotistical and self-centered girl to someone a lot more selfless and heroic, even going as far as now genuinely liking Okarun in a romantic manner.
Final thoughts
It is logical that anime-only fans of Dandadan are currently asking "Is Acrobatic Silky Aira's mom?" given what has been played out in the adaptation thus far. They are certainly not related but they have a connection made out of an encounter they had years ago.
