While Finn's identity in Wistoria: Wand and Sword is shrouded in mystery, multiple aspects of his character raise interesting questions. One such mystery is whether he's the same person as the captain of the Loki Familia from DanMachi.
Undoubtedly, Wistoria: Wand and Sword's Finn bears an uncanny resemblance to DanMachi's Finn Deimne. Yet, fans must know that they aren't the same characters. Fujino Omori loves to use character designs and names from his fantasy light novel series to illustrate his characters from new projects.

Exploring why Finn from Wistoria: Wand and Sword isn't the same person as Loki Familia's captain in DanMachi
Although Finn from Wistoria: Wand and Sword looks strikingly similar to DanMachi's Finn Deimne, the Captain of the Loki Familia, the characters are different.
In the former series, Finn's actual name is Invess, even though he detests others addressing him with that name. According to the manga, Finn is a dungeon guide and belongs to the Finn Tribe. It's a tribe that can't use magic but compensates for it with their overwhelming knowledge of the dungeon that they have accumulated for generations.
The Finn tribe has been under contract with the Tower since the Mage Queen's reign to help with the dungeon exploration as guides. It's almost impossible to venture deep into the dungeon without their guidance. In the series, Aaron Masterias Oldking, with Finn/Invess's aid, went deep into the dungeon's 49th floor.
Besides his immense aptitude in Dungeon exploration as a guide, Finn supervises the "Swords," i.e., people who can't use magic but excel in sword skills. That's why he has a keen interest in Will Serfort, who has mastery over swords. Finn almost acts as a mentor to Will from time to time in the manga.
While he calls himself seven years old, Finn's actual age could be over 500 years. The manga implies that Finn received Will Serfort from Mercedes, the Mage Queen and the founder of the Magia Vander, 500 years ago to unify the Wand and the Sword.
However, author Fujino Omori has yet to give a clear explanation about Finn's relationship with Mercedes. In any case, there are many aspects of Wistoria: Wand and Sword's Finn that are still vague.
On the other hand, DanMachi's Finn Deimne serves as the Loki Familia's captain. Although he looks like a child, Deimne is over 40 years old in the series. He possesses a sharp mind and can analyze and judge situations with ease.
Finn Deimne also prefers not to take unnecessary risks since it can jeopardize his Familia. He deeply cares for his Familia and keeps track of everyone's progress. At the same time, he's friendly to other Familia, such as the Hestia Familia. He's also a proper leader with excellent leadership qualities.
Unlike Finn from Fujino Omori's other work, DanMachi's Finn was born in a small village located in a mountain area. As an individual from the Pallum race, he had a troubled childhood. Yet, he pushed on and eventually joined the Loki Familia. He recruited Riveria and Gareth and ranked up along with them. Eventually, he garnered fame and became one of Orario's strongest adventurers.
As we can see, Finn Deimne has a strikingly different backstory from Wistoria's Finn. It only makes sense because Fujino Omori often uses the characters' names and appearances from the light novel series in his new manga project.
For example, the author added Lefiya Filvis from the Loki Familia and Filvis Challia from the Dionysus Familia to episodes 5 and 6 of Wistoria: Wand and Sword anime as the members of the Tower's Elf Faction. As such, it's a recurrent process by the author, something he has also done with Finn.
