With the Blue Lock manga soon set to conclude the Neo Egoist League Arc, fans have been looking forward to a possible new evolution for Yoichi Isagi. With the recent developments in the manga, it has become very clear that the protagonist is in no way better than his rivals.

Therefore, considering how manga tropes go, Isagi desperately needed a downfall so that he could pick himself back up and come across a new evolution. Surprisingly, that's probably just what Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura have been doing as the latest manga chapter depicts him to have hit his rock-bottom.

As seen in the match between Bastard Munchen and Paris X Gen, the score is currently 2-2 with all four goals scored by the aces of both teams, i.e., Yoichi Isagi, Michael Kaiser, Rin Itoshi, and Ryusei Shidou. This meant that the one to score the next goal would not only help their team win but would also be named the best among the four.

Out of the four players, Ryusei Shidou played pretty much the same way he always played. As for both of Isagi's rivals, Rin and Kaiser, they seemingly used Isagi as a stepping stone to awaken themselves. Rin was now constantly in the "Flow" state while Kaiser was now a renewed player, willing to pass to Blue Lock players. In addition, he finally mastered his Kaiser Impact Point - Magnus.

With such awakenings in place, it had become very evident that if Yoichi Isagi wanted to come out on top, he needed a new awakening or evolution. But as manga fans would know, normally evolutions only come forth when someone experiences a downfall. Hence, Isagi desperately needed a downfall. Surprisingly, that is just what is happening in the manga after Master Strikers Noel Noa and Julian Loki entered the field.

Firstly, Isagi was left feeling betrayed after Noa revealed that he was only using Isagi to help Kaiser have an awakening. Secondly, witnessing Julian Loki's inhuman speed left Isagi questioning the meaning of 'genius.' The final nail in the coffin was Noa disregarding his query as Isagi finally accepted that he was not a 'genius' but only a 'prodigy' capable of matching with the geniuses.

While he was capable of competing with the geniuses for now, his skills would not help him in the future as he would be left biting the dust when competing on the world stage. This realization saw Yoichi Isagi tear up as realized his limit and could no longer picture himself winning against Rin Itoshi or Noel Noa.

Just when the manga showed Isagi hitting rock bottom, Ego Jinpachi gave an analogy of Isagi's situation. Isagi had finally reached the "prodigy's wall." While it was scary, it could also act as a stepping stone for a new evolution. With that, the Blue Lock manga hinted at Yoichi Isagi attaining a possible new evolution at the end of the Neo Egoist League Arc.
