Why did Neito Monoma get a statue in My Hero Academia?
While My Hero Academia chapter 429 spoilers did not reveal why Neito Monoma received a statue at U.A. High School, it is to be presumed that the school's principal and other higher-ups must have recognized his efforts in the final war as significant. Hence, they must have built his statue alongside other hero statues at the school to let the future generations know about the same.
As fans might remember, Neito Monoma had a huge part to play in the final war, especially at the beginning. He used his Copy Quirk to emulate Kurogiri's Warp Gate Quirk, using which he teleported members of the League of Villains to different locations. In addition, he also teleported the heroes who were meant to fight each of the villains.
Moreover, Monoma also had a huge part to play in the battle against Shigaraki Tomura as he copied Shota Aizawa's Erasure Quirk and erased Shigaraki's Decay Quirk, allowing the heroes to have a chance at fighting the villain. Nevertheless, Monoma getting a statue was a development that no one expected. Hence, fans reacted on the same online.
How fans reacted to Monoma getting a statue
While fans were surprised at Neito Monoma getting a statue, they weren't against it as he was a fan-favorite character and had made significant contributions to the final war to deserve it. Hence, with the manga ending soon, some fans began labeling the manga "My Monoma Academia."
"My green haired goat got nothing," a fan added.
"Everyone getting a bittersweet/mediocre/bad ending and monoma getting a 100% positive ending LMFAOO this is what y’all get for trashing him for so many years," another fan said.
"whole class b celebrating with monoma," another fan said.
That said, some fans were bothered that Izuku Midoriya didn't receive a statue but Monoma did. The truth is that the manga did not reveal whether Deku received a statue or not. Hence, there still lies the possibility of Deku receiving a statue of his own.
Meanwhile, other fans were happy for Monoma and were glad that he got a positive ending. Fans also observed how Monoma celebrated his statue with friends in Class 2B and were happy to see the same.
