Although One Piece chapter 1118 is set to be released on June 24, 2024, the spoilers for it have already taken the fandom by storm with the transformation of Bonney into Nika.

The chapter showcased the Gorosei planning to go after the remaining Vegapunk satellites after taking down the Transmission Transponder Snail of Vegapunk Stella. On the other hand, Luffy's side was being attacked by Saint Marcus who claimed that he wouldn't let any of them escape.

After witnessing danger, Luffy transformed into Gear 5 and Bonney also joined him, which was something the fandom had different reactions to. Where one part of the fandom didn't like such a simple-minded transformation, some reacted to her transformation calmly and appreciated her Nika design.

What is Bonney's 'Joy Girl' form in One Piece chapter 1118?

According to the spoilers of One Piece chapter 1118, the chapter commenced with the Iron Giant sinking into the sea as he inquired from Joyboy about his whereabouts. The chapter then shifted to the Dressrosa Kingdom where everyone was discussing why Vegapunk's message was shut down.

The chapter spoilers shifted back to Egghead Island, where Vegapunk York told the Five Elders about the remaining alive Vegapunk satellites. While Saint Warcury was stopping one ship of the giants from advancing toward Elbaf, Luffy, Dorry, and Brogy mounted another one of the ships.

Bonney also managed to escape from the Marine captains by transforming them into babies using her devil fruit. She joined Luffy's side to fight Saint Marcus, who was nearing their ship.

Luffy encouraged her to transform into Nika, which she successfully did and transformed into a JoyBoy-like form, thus the title 'Joy Girl.' The Bonney-Nika controversy has had the fandom by storm since its revelation.

On one side, a part of the fandom loved the new design of the female design in Nika form. It was interesting to see how her form resembled Luffy's Gear 5 in its entirety and looked unique at the same time. One fan was excited about seeing her in action in the next chapter against Saint Marcus.

"ILLove her Design," a fan said.
"Wohooo she looks so damn cool," another fan said.
"Best egghead duo will cook next chapter," another fan claimed.

On the other hand, a part of the fandom didn't like the author tossing around the powers of JoyBoy with the latest transformation of the female pirate. They didn't like JoyBoy's powers becoming achievable so easily and expressed their opinions.

Some fans hated the female pirate's transformation for no reason, as it didn't feel right. Lastly, some fans stopped believing in the author, Eiichiro Oda, due to the female pirate's Nika transformation.

"Joy Boy, then joy girl. What is next, Joy world?" a fan said.
"Idk why but I hate this," another fan said.
"Don’t let oda cook again," another fan said.

Final thoughts

It is interesting to see how a part of the fandom is going over the edge for the Bonney-Nika transformation, even though there has been no reveal of her capabilities in this form.

Her devil fruit, the Age-Age fruit, is one of the most interesting ones in the series, as she has partially transformed into Nika before. But even though her current transformation is exactly like Luffy's, there is little chance of it having the same capabilities as Luffy.
