Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 257 began with a brief flashback to Uraume and Sukuna discussing Yuji, with Uraume saying they “once sensed the same thing” in Yuji as they do in Sukuna. This prompted Sukuna to surmise that Jin Itadori was his twin’s soul reincarnated and that he eventually mated with Kenjaku. He then speculated that at least one of the Sukuna’s fingers were sealed in Yuji even though he was born as a player in the Culling Game.
Sukuna speculated that this was done to build his strength as a vessel, while Uraume wondered if Yuji had potential equal to Sukuna’s. The chapter returned to the present, where Yuji hit four consecutive Black Flashes on Sukuna. It’s then revealed that Yuji can use both Blood Manipulation and Sukuna’s Cursed Technique, Malevolent Shrine, which includes Cleave and Dismantle based on what’s seen in the issue.
Sukuna commented on Yuji’s being weaker than his, as a flashback of Ino asking Gojo and co for permission to use Nanami’s sword played out. In the present, Ino used his Cursed Technique and Nanami’s sword to distract Sukuna. This allowed Yuji to hit four more consecutive Black Flashes on Sukuna, infuriating him for how easily Yuji landed them. The issue ended with Sukuna getting agitated by this turn of events as Yuji’s 8th Black Flash hit him.
Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 258: What to expect (speculative)
With Sukuna seemingly getting agitated or even worried over Yuji’s apparent awakening, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 258 should give some context about the current state Sukuna is in. Fans can also expect some commentary on Megumi Fushiguro, who could be motivated by seeing Yuji’s incredible efforts in rescuing him from Sukuna.
Chapter 258 could also begin with another flashback, most likely focused on Kenjaku and Jin Itadori. While such a focus could truly reveal anything and everything, something that makes sense, given chapter 258’s reveals, is that Jin knew who Kenjaku was and still went along with the plan.
