Spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 264 dropped today, July 25, 2024, and were very much worth the wait. Previously, chapter 263 ended with Hana Kurusu, aka Angel, making a comeback, likely filling in for Yuta/Gojo, who had collapsed due to the Copy Technique being burnt out.

Over the break, fans waited with bated breath for the next phase of this epic showdown. Safe to say, things are looking much better for Team Jujutsu High. Although Sukuna broke past Jacob's Ladder and downed Todo Aoi and Hana, the highlight of the chapter was Yuji Itadori finally receiving his Domain Expansion.

Moreover, just before that moment, Sukuna recovered a key ability in the Reverse Cursed Technique (RCT), allowing him to regenerate his lost arms. But given the current scenario, the odds look stacked against him.

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 264: Sukuna recovers a key power too little too late?

What happened?

The spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 264 depicted Sukuna launching a counter at Hana, using rocks from the destroyed ground as footing to scale up the pillar of light. He sought to finish her with a powerful Black Flash, but Todo Aoi intervened, tanking the hit that blew both sorcerers back.

Just then, Yuji popped up and slammed Sukuna into a building below. But as the boy was about to disbalance the Demon King, the latter caught him off guard with a hard hit. As it stands, he managed to regenerate his lost arms in time to prevent the teen from capitalizing further on him.

How Sukuna got his RCT back

As revealed by the narrator in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 264, Sukuna recovered his RCT through the use of 2 additional Black Flashes. As seen previously, Black Flash as a technique possesses a very useful secondary capability. Consecutive Black Flashes allow the user to regain their lost RCT.

As seen in chapter 256, Gojo Satoru regained his exhausted RCT by using Black Flash. Thus, the technique deals damage to the target while simultaneously benefitting the user. Hence, even in this case, due to Sukuna using Black Flash before, that too twice, he regained his RCT and regenerated his arms.

Too Little Too Late?

Sukuna regaining his RCT would prove to be quite troublesome for Team Jujutsu, given that their best fighters have been mostly rendered unable to continue. Till this chapter, Todo's presence was a massive boost, and Hana's return looked to be the cherry on top. However, even that was dealt with by Sukuna.

Nonetheless, Yuji is still standing, and the ending of chapter 264 proves that his time to take center stage has finally arrived. Probably the most awaited moment in the entire series was Yuji Itadori awakening and using his Domain Expansion. Countless theories and speculation went into what it might be and when it might happen. But now, Gege Akutami has allowed it to happen.

Yuji's Domain has taken both him and Sukuna to a strange station, with the features of the Domain Expansion yet unknown. Considering the sure-hit effect of a Domain, Sukuna's depleted state and Yuji likely being locked in, Sukuna regaining his RCT does not seem too promising for him.

Final Thoughts

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 264 was everything fans expected it to be. Sukuna once again seemingly had a counter to everything that was thrown at him. Hana's return and her Maximum Output: Jacob's Ladder looked to have slowed him down in the slightest.

But he was in no way expecting Yuji to be able to access the pinnacle of Jujutsu sorcery. Moreover, within Yuji's Domain, Sukuna's original form has been reduced to what he was when he would take over Yuji's body. With all these odds stacked against Sukuna, his regaining his RCT might be too little too late.
