Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 265 recap
Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 265 began with Sukuna assuming that the current situation was a case of dueling sorcerers bonding with each other due to Cursed Energy’s origins in human emotion. However, he then says this is different before asking Yuji if this is his Domain Expansion. Yuji says he’s unsure since it’s something he just pulled out in the middle of mortal combat before saying that he wanted some time to talk to Sukuna.
Essentially, the chapter sees Yuji revisit some of the most meaningful places and experiences in his life with Sukuna by his side. This includes a walk through the town he first lived in, places he played as a child, activities he always loved doing, and more. This transitioned into Yuji explaining that he thought life was about understanding one’s role and fulfilling it, and that he could die happy likewise, but now feels differently.
He asserts that the small fragments of one’s memory that are left behind after they pass are what give meaning to one’s life and that humans aren’t tools. He adds he wanted Sukuna to know all of this, but Sukuna says he feels nothing and is unmoved. However, Sukuna then realizes Yuji is pitying him. The issue ends with Yuji confirming this, demanding Sukuna return to his body or Yuji will kill him, and Sukuna obviously rejects this and threatens Yuji.
What to expect from Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 266 (speculative)
With Yuji and Sukuna’s talk clearly over heading into Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 266, the issue will almost certainly begin with Yuji instructing his Domain Expansion to begin attacking Sukuna. This will severely weaken the already depleted bond Sukuna’s soul has with Megumi’s body, in turn likely freeing Megumi sometime soon. However, Sukuna is unlikely to go down with a fight and will almost certainly find a way to counter Yuji’s Domain Expansion.
The most likely answer is a Hollow Wicker Basket, with Sukuna likely reverting to his Heian era form as the fight begins. This will allow him to both keep Hollow Wicker Basket up to counter Yuji’s Domain and fight back against Yuji simultaneously. The issue will likely end with Yuji making contact with Megumi’s soul once more, setting up their own conversation about life in the subsequent release.
