The focus then shifted to the present, where Yuta was revealed to be alive and in his own body. While Rika was separated from him, she continuously used the Reverse Cursed Technique to sustain his body. This allowed him to move back into his body after the fight since he was still alive even after Kenjaku’s Cursed Technique burnt out. However, he was near death after the Cursed Technique recovered.

Maki then began discussing the ways they could’ve won if they’d done things differently, blaming Yuta for most of them. However, others also chimed in as to why the plan had to go the way it did, such as Maki not being detected by Boogie Woogie, Rika being essential in dealing with loose Cursed Spirits, and more. After revealing Hiromi Higuruma as having survived, the group discussed the New Shadow Style school and its leader.

Apparently, the leader was rumored as siphoning the lifespans of their disciples. However, Kusakabe said this was no longer the case since he was now the current head of the New Shadow Style. This led back into the Mei Mei flashback from earlier, where the old woman she confronted was the leader, whom she discovered via Tengen. The issue ended with Mei Mei killing her while commenting on how the sorcery world is about to be at war.

With Mei Mei teasing an all-out battle between the Gojo and Kamo clans in the wake of the Shinjuku Showdown, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 270 will likely continue to focus on this plotline. Likewise, exactly how this is focused should give fans a clearer picture of whether or not a sequel series is coming, which is the current popular fan theory.
