With the release of Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 270, the manga series released its penultimate chapter. Amidst the series' end, fans were hoping for the chapter to have some major developments. However, the chapter was quite anticlimactic with the manga seemingly showing what was up with some of the characters after the final battle.

That said, the manga potentially gave fans one big hint about the series' future through its chapter title. While it could mean absolutely nothing, given that there is a chance for the manga to receive a sequel series, the hint could be something huge, especially if correlated with a dialogue once stated by Kenjaku.

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 270 title calls back to Kenjaku's exchange with Sasaki

As seen in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 270, the latest manga chapter was titled "End of the Dream." While the manga chapter title sounds like one that can be found at the end of any manga series, an exchange between Kenjaku and Setsuko Sasaki nods at the potential for a not-so-happy ending to the series.

In Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 160, Kenjaku can be seen meeting up with people and informing them about his barrier and how many people were going to be killing each other in that location as part of the Culling Game. Hence, he gave them a chance to get out of the barrier before the event took place.

It was later revealed that Kenjaku and Sasaki were having this exchange in a space between dream and reality. While Kenjaku did call it a "curse," the kanji seemingly read "majinai" and not "noroi."

While "noroi" was a word used for curses or dark supernatural forces, "majinai" is used to describe something that is performed by a human like a ritual or technique. Hence, the word meant something closer to "magic" in English. Therefore, what Kenjaku said can be interpreted as "enchantment," a protection against evil.

With no real way to determine what Kenjaku meant by this, it can only mean that the space between dream and reality was either cursed or enchanted.

With that in mind, considering that Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 270 was titled "End of a Dream," there is a chance the manga is referring to a potential sequel series as the "reality." Therefore, with the dream ending in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 270, the final manga chapter, i.e., Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 271 could be "the space between dream and reality."

Depending on whether what Kenjaku meant "curse" or "enchantment," the upcoming chapter could potentially either be one of the most boring endings to a series or the most meta-disturbing conclusion. That said, unless the potential sequel series is set to be published in an alternate Shueisha publication, the chances of the upcoming chapter being tepid are next to none. Hence, fans should expect a mind-boggling end to the Jujutsu Kaisen manga.
