The modern era of the animanga industry is blessed with sensational series like Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, and Demon Slayer, all of which have a tremendous influence on anime fans all over the world. In fact, they have gotten so popular at this point that some people have even started calling them the "Modern Big 3" series.
Apart from a cast of memorable characters, a gripping storyline, and outstanding action sequences, the main reason behind the surge in the popularity of the three series is undoubtedly their main antagonists. From Demon Slayer's Kibutsuji Muzan and My Hero Academia's All For One to Jujutsu Kaisen's Ryomen Sukuna, all three characters have proven to be some of the most fascinating villains of the modern era.
Upon close inspection, however, a few glaring similarities can be pointed out between the three villains. While they may certainly differ in motivations or their respective powers, their similarities might foreshadow the fate of Jujutsu Kaisen's King of Curses, who is currently locked in a deadly battle of survival.
Sukuna's fate in Jujutsu Kaisen may have already been foreshadowed by Muzan and All For One's deaths
Ryomen Sukuna has garnered a lot of praise from the Jujutsu Kaisen fanbase over the past few months, mainly due to the display of his tremendous strength and intelligence in the ongoing final battle of the series. Ever since he defeated Satoru Gojo, Sukuna has dominated all competition from pretty much the entire cast of Jujutsu Kaisen, thereby proving his status as the undisputed King of Curses.
While Sukuna may certainly be a unique and interesting villain at first glance, some fans may have noticed that he has one too many similarities with My Hero Academia's All For One and Demon Slayer's Kibutsuji Muzan.
A Reddit user, u/Soul699, recently pointed out some glaring similarities between the three characters in the r/JuJutsuKaisen community. First and foremost, all three villains are seemingly all-powerful, purely evil, and selfish, and they live according to their own desires. Secondly, all three took on a different form for each of their final battles in their respective series.
There's also an interesting similarity between All For One and Muzan, as both characters have been seen to have some sort of PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) after almost being killed by someone in the past. Sukuna, on the other hand, has not been shown to have faced any such opponent in the past. That said, this can be attributed to his largely unexplored backstory.
Lastly, all three villains have also been seen to have undergone some sort of change in their respective philosophies after fighting the main character of their respective series.
So far, a visible pattern is certainly visible among the three characters. However, one stark contrast between them is the fact that Sukuna is still alive at this point in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, whereas the other two villains have already met their demise at the hands of their respective main characters.
What's interesting about Muzan and All For One's respective deaths is the fact that both villains met their ends in an unexpectedly similar way. Towards the end of Demon Slayer, Muzan transformed into a giant baby and died shortly afterwards. All For One, on the other hand, met his initial end at the hands of Katsuki Bakugo, where he also transformed into a baby towards the end of their fight.
After taking this pattern into consideration, fans would be right to fear that Sukuna may also share a similar fate. That said, this would be an incomprehensible scenario at this point, seeing as to how the King of Curses is currently in possession of Megumi's body and is therefore unlikely to turn into a baby anytime soon.
Furthermore, it would be a disgraceful end to such a fascinating and menacing villain, who has never once failed to strike fear into the hearts of almost every character as well as the readers throughout the series.
Although it's natural to fear that Sukuna may end up dying a similar death to All For One or Muzan, it's important to keep in mind that Jujutsu Kaisen's mangaka, Gege Akutami, has the habit of subverting the readers' expectations. Therefore, fans can only hope that the mangaka manages to deliver a satisfying and justifiable end to the King of Curses.
