The Jujutsu Kaisen manga had been on a short break, and the next chapter is 8 days away. However, fans of the series cannot afford themselves a breather, given some concerning news that has surfaced. This time, it is not about creator Gege Akutami but rather the editor, Junya Fukuda.
The latter was working on the upcoming chapter 248, and he was shaken up, given how the story was about to progress. Posted on X by a reliable source, fans are on the edge of their seats, speculating heavily on just Gege is going to hit them with next.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Editor's comments regarding next chapter appall fans
Jujutsu Kaisen editor Junya Fukuda has stated that something shocking and crazy is about to happen in the next chapters of Gege Akutami's series. The manga had been on a break for a little while and is slated to return on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 12 am JST. This leaves roughly eight days to fully understand what he might have meant.
The whole incident took place when Junya was busy working on the chapter when he was interrupted. A TV host had entered the workplace and was waiting for an interview with him. But the host caught a glimpse of his work and couldn't look elsewhere. Fortunately for team Jujutsu Kaisen, it was blurred on the broadcast.
Upon the news surfacing, X lit with fans putting forth their thoughts and opinions on what might be happening next. Speculations regarding the death of another major character, Yuji Itadori getting a much-needed and probably deserved power-up and others began floating around.
Fans attempt to decipher the "shocking stuff"
Fans were quick to take to X to share what they thought might happen next in what has turned out to be an explosive story so far. Some Jujutsu Kaisen fans are speculating about the death of another major character. This can not be completely ruled out, given that even the supposed wildcard, Hiromi Higuruma, has seemingly kicked the bucket.
On the other hand, many are hoping for a Gojo Satoru comeback. But this seems like a major grey area - previously mentioned by Gojo himself. While his head is intact, anything can happen, but if he does, then the rest of the sorcerers' time in the spotlight will be reduced.
Thirdly, fans are praying for Yuji Itadori's much-awaited power-up, possibly in the form of his own Domain Expansion. The inexperienced teen lacks a proper Domain and Cursed Technique, which limits him from keeping up with the likes of Kenjaku, Ryomen Sukuna, and others. But here, if he does awaken something, it could be a major boost to the sorcerers.
Finally, some of the opinion that Team Gojo's third member is about to make an appearance, i.e., Nobara Kugisaki. She was last seen in Jujutsu Kaisen's Shibuya Arc following her fight with Mahito and on the verge of death. Luckily, Arata Nitta reached her in time but left matters open without guaranteeing her survival. Maybe this could be the time she makes an emphatic return.
Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 247 recap
Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 247 begins with the fully resurrected Ryomen Sukuna acknowledging and admitting to Hiromi Higuruma's understanding and use of his Cursed Technique being nearly at par with his own. The battle then progressed, with both Yuji and Higururma attacking Sukuna.
But the Demon King brushed aside the pink-haired sorcerer, claiming that he didn't "thrill" him at all. He then cut off the lawyer's right arm and compelled him to heal himself through the Reverse Cursed Technique, which he had never done before. Higuruma has been dubbed a prodigy and, true to it, did manage to heal and took a stab at Sukuna with the Executioner's Blade.
However, even that proved insufficient, as Sukuna took the blade one of his hands and let it get cut off, in return severely damaging Higururma and possibly killing him. But behind him was an onrushing and enraged Yuji. Before taking the hit, Higuruma flung the blade, and Yuji caught it, ending the chapter with a panel of him almost jabbing it into the Demon King's back.
